FR-S near Raleigh?
 

Has anyone put his name down for an FR-S in the RDU area or know of a dealer that has one for viewing? I'd like to see one even though I'm buying its evil blue twin.

I stopped by Fred Anderson Toyota last weekend and they couldn't really tell me anything except "a month or two" and "a few people have stopped by to ask about them." They didn't have any literature about the FRS yet either, but the saleslady took my name and phone number.

Does it seem like no one in the triangle knows about this car?

I haven't done any checking into the FR-S since I'm not interested in buying one. As for the BRZ, my dealer seems to know no more and no less than the going average, meaning very little.

So far all the dealerships in NC and SC seem completely out of the loop. None of them even knew about the first test drive event. I call once a week and get another random date later in the year. that goes for the brz and frs. The brz was in charlotte a month ago if i remeber correctly so it might be a while before they bring another show car around, but one thing is for sure the dealerships in NC/SC are oblivious.

I was at Leith in Raleigh a few weeks ago and the guy I talked to was actually very knowledgeable about the car and said they were expecting one around the end of May. I didn't ask about how many people were in line though.

Hi guys... I live in Durham and I'm also hoping to get an FR-S.

Talked to a salesman at Fred Anderson on Saturday (5/5) and he said they are now accepting deposits on the FR-S. However, he wanted a $1000 non-refundable deposit. I'm not paying a non-refundable deposit when I haven't even driven one yet!

End of May is when I have been told the first FR-S will be showing up in Wilmington, so that sounds about right.

It will apparently be an Asphalt colored model if anyone is interested.

I assume it's already spoken for?

Last I checked (last Wednesday, May 2nd) it was showing up on the 25th and wasn't officially sold to anyone. I don't know if it is automatic or manual. I've just been keeping tabs so I can hopefully snag a test drive before I put a deposit in for mine.

Just thought I'd share with you guys... I was able to locate an FR-S about 150mi from Raleigh. The dealer said they were getting one and they allowed me to put a deposit down. It's definitely worth calling some dealers outside of Raleigh if you don't mind driving. I would recommend checking Scion dealers around the Triad area and maybe even the mountains of NC.

Anyone know of a solid Scion dealership/salesman in the Raleigh area? I just want a dealership I can call as an alternative in case Toyota of Wilmington turns out to be a horrible experience. Thanks.
