RWD CRX

I personally really like the look of the CRX, and it's lightweight and nifty... low-slung, all that good stuff.
I've always thought "Man, if that was just RWD, that'd be a nice rig."

Well, unsurprisingly, it's been done. In my searches, I came across one particularly nice project.
Wanted to share it with you all.

(Anyone who's interested, anyway... and anyone who doesn't like it... well, that's your own business. Keep your badge-driven hate out of my thread.)

(BTW, it's farther along than what those two pictures show, but not done yet, afaik.)

I find myself looking at photos of the older CRX's quite often actually. They are nice little cars, just as you said. Lightweight, nifty (Hatch space) but I agree, I think it'd be a bit funner RWD. Nice find!

I also like the one year model that the Si came in a hatchback config.. I'll find a picture.. I really like those too.

EDIT :: Couldn't find any really nice pictures, but the 2005 Honda Civic Si Hatchback is the one Im referring to. Blue in colour is my fav.

I would have thought that they'd have converted it to MR rather than FR. Nice still.

That is awesome. I'd love to take on something like that at some point in my life!

those are some true frankenstein builds, i never seen that civic/Subaru build before.
i've seen a build that they called a civette. was a civic running on a LS1

Lexicon101 04-23-2010 11:47 PM

Not sure I see the point of the civaru.
Why not just drive the subaru?
Anyway, yeah there've been a few MR CRXs, but I genuinely like this FR CRX. The welds are done very well, too.
