Chase Bays vortech kit
so I bought the kit they had forsale....
here is a link to the thread and the pics of what I received today. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55165 update: 1/24/14 chase bays is going to send me a new pulley. they have stepped up despite the pissing match the other thread turned into. I apologize for the mess that thread turned into. I applaud the guys at chase bays for stepping up and taking care of the issues. UPDATE: 1/26/14 chase bays pm'd asking to have the paypal claim removed. I said I will remove said claim once i receive tracking for the pulley. 2/3/14 Started the install while I wait for pulleys. The kit is missing hardware, and the intercooler is damaged also. Hoses were hacked off with no concern, couplers are torn.... Officially over with this pile of crap. 2/3/14 go this pm: [QUOTE=Chase Bays]Insure it for $3200 Chase Bays 1300 Monroe Ave SW Birmingham, AL 35211 As soon as we get it we'll refund you. [QUOTE=Shit Luck][QUOTE=Chase Bays] 2.15.14 parts signed for by chasebays still awaiting refund. 2.18.14 looks like paypal has credited my card back for the purchase. |

I tried facebook, they cant accept friends so I cant post. I messaged him there. I messaged him on here as well. just got the kit about 2 hours ago |
You're going through an emotional rollercoaster right now as you just dropped good amount of change. You need to calm down and try to reach out to them tomorrow. They are a business and not at everyones' beckoning call all day. Give them a chance to make good, or if necessary go through insurance with the shipping company. I could understand you might be documenting, but 2 hours is not enough to go calling out a company. Give them a chance, otherwise contact Paypal and they will do an investigation.
|
I get it, but there was no way they gave a shit when they packaged this thing. they only insured it for 50 bucks.
|
Give them time to sort it out. If they insured it for only that much, then it will be on them to make it right. They should have packaged like it came from the factory or better. If they don't make right, then obviously open a claim with Paypal. They will probably put the funds back into your account as they investigate. Make sure they rule in your favor before spending that money.

I think 48 working hours is a fair amount of time to give them to reach back out to you. |

my other concern now is internal damage to the blower. if it took a hard enough hit to damage the pulley what is broken on the inside.
would you bolt it to your motor ? |
chase bays cares 2 shits, ive had horrible experiences with them when buying 6-700$ harnesses.

maybe they will prove me wrong and swoop in and be a hero about the whole deal. |
HERE IS THEIR RESPONSE TO ME.
[QUOTE=Chase Bays]I don't know your definition of trashed but you did purchase a used item so there is going to be some normal wear and tear. The pulley was changed out as you know but it should look perfectly fine. I think the washer could possibly be a little mis-shaped and slightly scratched, but if you're really being that picky about something so small and non-visible then you should have bought it new. But you saved over $1,000 dollars so I think you did the right thing. As for the lid, why don't you send me some pictures? Worst case scenario I buy you a new lid which will probably be $10 or less. As I stated previously, used item. The item is in great condition, but it's used. So there's going to be scuffs and scratches from the install, use, and uninstall. Nothing new there. Just send me some pictures and we'll figure it out. [QUOTE=Shit Luck][QUOTE=Chase Bays] |
Fair enough response. Send him pictures of what you expect him to replace and state that you would like to have the supercharger looked at by Vortech. I do agree that some scratches and wear marks are to be expected but nothing should be damaged enough that it effects the operation of the system.

i am about over it on here. a tacoma is looking better and better. :bonk: |
Forums really blow things out of proportion. We're all on the same team here.
Don't take out your previous bad experiences on your current experiences, how is that a rational mentality? You'll just make things terrible for the buyer and that's unfair. We haven't had a phone call or a voicemail from you. We answer phones like madmen so I don't know how we would have somehow missed it. But okay. The oil is my mistake. It was perfectly clean when it was boxed, but it has a brass vented cap for the internal oil and it was probably flipped around in the box so it spilled. Vortech ships these with a brass 100% plugged cap and you change it out during the install. I completely forgot about that. There is extra oil in the box. Clean it off with brake cleaner and you'll be set. Just be sure to add oil. My apologies! As far as the intake, I'll buy you a new one. Sound good? |

I see forum users running off vendors all the time that make small mistakes and then 20 pages later before they can even respond it's just blown out of proportion, exaggerated 4 times over, and they're made out to be these big scammers...out to screw everyone over. But in reality they just forgot something simple and it could have been easy to fix. Everyone makes mistakes, then people get crazy and make all these accusations about their character...call them scumbags...then expect a calm response. Oh and the worst part is everyone making claims and being the most vocal regarding the matter aren't even customers and they probably never would have been. People just be patient. I totally understand the worry and it's okay to get frustrated, but just be patient and optimistic. Don't believe every word you read either. With Paypal and even with your debit/credit card you're 100% protected so calm down. As a vendor, we're not nearly as protected as you and our reputation is on the line. In reality, we're taking the bigger risk by selling to you. If people keep acting the way I have seen on this forum and just about every other one, they're going to scare off all the future cool products and good deals for your chassis. Vendors DO NOT want to do business with the kind of people I explained above. There is such thing as refusing to do business with someone and/or firing a customer, so don't be that guy! That being said, on behalf of every vendor here...cool customers are so very loved and appreciated. So keep it up! |

I made attempts to contact them on the phone, facebook and on here. no response so i posted in the forsale and made this thread to get their attention and hopefully get a response. the forsale thread got derailed by people not involved in the transaction. Chase Bays contacted me and is taking care of the pulley for me. Once i recieve a pulley will update this again as i am in waiting currently |
Started installing the kit today while I wait for the pulley....
As I figured I might I ran into problems, lots of missing hardware, bent and butchered parts, including the intercooler having been damaged. |
If Chase Bays doesn't help, just open up a claim with your credit card or PayPal. That shit shouldn't happen, especially with a company known like them.

Did you try to contact them before posting here? If not email them give them 24-48 hrs to respond before you start a claim. No reason to blow things out of proportions! It seems they want to help and resolve an issue that wasn't even caused by them. |
