Suspension Bushings
Upgrading some bushings to make the car more responsive and i have a few questions im hoping ppl with more knowledge can help out. this is my summer DD, which will see 2-3 track days per month. my current suspension mods are
kw v3 cusco fr/rr strut bars whiteline crossmember bushing inserts perrin tran support whiteline positive shift kit what is the difference between these two, i know one is a insert and the other is a complete replacement, is the complete replacement worth extra $$ or is the insert more then adequate. http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_..._number=KDT924 http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_..._number=KDT925 also is this a better mod then getting something like a cusco differential brace? what other bushings would be smart to upgrade. i want to fix the issues caused with lowering, looking at roll center correction kits to bring the geometry back in line. ill also be getting alignment and balance done. i will also be purchasing http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_..._number=KCA434 Rear LCA - not sure what to go with? recommendations??? thanks for the help :burnrubber: |
Dan, I have the 925 and am happy with it, relatively easy installation and it certainly stiffens up the dif movement. I also have the rear crossmember insets as well. Between the two of them they do transfer a lot of driveline noise into the cabin. If this is something you can live with, great you'll enjoy it. If however you prefer a quiet cabin I would advise against these inserts. If you wait until spring time I'm sure we could arrange a get together and you can ride in mine to see what you think.

i really dont mind a bit of driveline noise, i did noticed cabin noise was louder after the cross member inserts install but it was no big deal. felt a little more rumble from the car and more race car like. now load droning exhaust noise is something that i can live without.

I just picked up the 925 and the positive shift kit, but both are sitting in a box until it's warmer out.
One thing about the 924 is that it's only half the solution, you'll need 923 for the other two bushings as well. 925 covers both, but it is inserts vs whole new bushings. Since your car is still pretty new and the stock bushings shouldn't be shredded, you should be fine with inserts. If it was a few years old I'd go with new bushings. |
will, i contacted http://www.canalignment.com/ and there going to do my alignment and balancing come spring, very nice and friendly ppl, thanks for the link. great guys. looks like ill go with the 925's, cheaper, look easier to install and since the bushings are pretty much brand new minus 9k my car currently has no point in swapping them out.

You should come out the OTA driving school at the DDT too, he's one of the instructors. |

May 3rd/4th at the CTMP DDT (Mosport small track)
http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showthr...t=28890&page=3 http://www.casc.on.ca/timeattack Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but last year it was $500 for the weekend including both lunches and dinner on Saturday. It will definitely be more this year because the rental fess for the DDT are going up, but no one seems to know by how much for sure. If you go to their open house (April 6th @ JRP) they typically have a reduced price for the school if you register on the spot. |
