I do. What info are you looking for?

power gains, any droning, if its too loud and causes too much unwanted attention, sound quality, and overall quality of the exhaust system t
thanks! |
With the stock front pipe and header there's a tolerable drone around 3k rpm. It's quiet as far as aftermarket catbacks go, and if you drive in a civilized manner you won't attract much attention. It is noticeably louder on cold starts during cam overlap, and the sound increases when you cane it.
I haven't put it on a dyno but it feels faster and I get more wheelspin in 2nd and 3rd, the charts I have seen show ~5hp increase on it's own. It will be more beneficial with other mods though. Quality is spot on. - AdrianG |
I don't have the spec L, but I do love my Legamax setup. No drone, it's not as loud as the Spec L, but the difference probably isn't much. The type of sound/exhaust note is different though. I went Legamax since I preferred the more refined tone. DSPORT mags reviews gave the Legamax one the highest gains.
Downside is the monster size of the tips. It's not for everyone. |
I've been wanting to hear this in person, if anyone in socal has this as a cat-back only and no other exhaust mods I'd want to hear it!

+ 1 Exactly why I have this exhaust, same on the tips though would have preferred a bit smaller but it does grow on you so to speak. Its a very quiet refined note but would be perfect if you do other mods such as headers high flow cat. Many other exhausts become too loud with other mods |
I've got a HKS/MOTIV setup now(click my sig for more details)
Here's an old setup: HKS EL Headers > MOTIV overpipe > HKS Catless Front Pipe > HKS Spec-L Video(warm revving): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10200820126397989 Vdeo(driving): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10200791906052498 Warmer weather the exhaust is a bit raspy like a Honduuuuh fart can - not so raspy if you have CBE only, if you have a full exhaust, it WILL be raspy. Can be easily fixed with heat wrap and hose clamps(read my build thread). Make sure you get the VERSION 2 of the HKS Spec-L. The first one has a manufacturing defect across the resonators and some hairline cracks along the bracket holding the H-Resonators too. Version 2 has tiny trap shaped brackets to secure the pipe/resonator. |

Any kits in the past containing the older version of the pipe have been replaced and any customer in need of the new pipe received one. :) |

Fair enough, however I don't speak without validation, and I am very confident no old stock remains in our parts. Enough pipes were shipped to cover every kit with the older style pipe. They have all been accounted for and swapped out. I know how many were delivered in America by HKS, how many were sold, and how many were replaced. It all balanced at the end. I know this because we are the exclusive distributor of HKS in the good ole USA. I can't speak for other countries which is why I said America. :) |
I had this setup on both NA and now on AVO turbo kit. Both setup include a gutted (catless) oem front pipe. On my NA setup with oem overpipe and headers it was loud on WOT but to me it was just nice and it gave out a very sporty tone. Now on AVO turbo setup with full catless and AVO overpipe it's really quiet. I would rate it just a little louder than full oem setup. My guess is that after the turbo kit was installed, the turbo itself actually muffled out most of the noise keeping it really quiet.
This is on NA setup. [ame]http://youtu.be/k_D8K9KU0-0[/ame] |
