For those of you wanting to go to this event, all I can say is:

Brake fluid and better-than-stock pads are a must if you want to drive more than 2-3 laps at a time.

bump :)

Perfect timing I'm itching for another track day. Might have the new openflash header + tablet to test out not 100% sure yet.

Any chance you'll be available for a ride? If so I call a seat because I want to feel how the jackson S/C feels like in this car :D

EDIT: BTW if anybody is in the area and isn't sure if they want to go or not - GO it will be worth it and this track is really great to stretch the legs of this car (and your abilities...). I feel it actually suits our cars really well which is pretty cool for a high speed track. The scenery is boring and nothing cool near the track but at least your not staring at a wall going 120+mph...

We have the 3rd event at Buttonwillow just 1 week after this...

I'll try to be there as well. That track looks very fun and pretty technical so that should be fun.

Wow some quick guys Street and Stock classes and they are not on the forums? Hopfully I'll be ready to join in on the action by the time you guys hit Buttonwillow.

Buttonwillow is the most fun track I've been on so far, followed by Chuckwalla.

Won't be able to participate on the February events unfortunately.

Will be at this one, 04/05/2014 Chuckwalla Raceway CW.

Have fun you guys!

The first two guys in Street Class are running Corollas. The list does not specify what type of car they have, as long as they meet requirements.

The Board will meet to discuss inclusion of AE86 and other cars of that type in the near future.

While I would normally agree, Big Willow is also a track where you want to progressively push the car. There's really no room for error, especially when you come into turn 9 hot and hit the dip at the apex at the wrong angle (and end up into the pit wall).

Yes definitely. I wasn't trying to make the track sound "easy" it was definitely quite intimidating as my first track but it felt so good to be out there in my FRS :).

Next time will be my first without the nannies, hopefully I can post a halfway decent lap, but with sport mode and a little bit of humility it wasn't too bad to drive fairly briskly. Definitely haven't given my 10/10ths there yet though..

How many points did these AE86 guys spec out to?

I'll have to dig up the sheets again but from what I remember I believe it was 2.5 and 2.25. Keep in mind it was an on the spot classing and like Alex mentioned, we will be discussing a more formal point classing for the AE86/AE71 cars very soon (most likely revolving around the weight to power ratio differences from the FT86 platform).
