Found a used BRZ Premium!

Hey guys, quick question.

I found a used BRZ Premium on Craigslist in my area (about 5 miles from my house), and the person is selling it for $15,800. It has 9,000 miles on it and it seems to be in amazing condition from the pictures.

Do you guys think I should pull the trigger on this one? What precautions do you think I should take when doing to look at the car? (We have set up a meeting for Sunday)

Let know what you guys/gals think :)

If it seems like too good a deal I am always very skeptical.

That seems awefully cheap. Check to make sure it hasn't been wrecked, totaled, frame damage, or flood recovery on the title or vehicle history. Also I would have him meet you at a local Subaru dealership and have an apointment to have a mechanic go over the car to ensure everything checks out ok.

I know, me too. That's why I'm trying to get a second opinion.

That's an awfully good price...if you find there's nothing wrong with it I don't see why you wouldn't buy it. It does sound a little too good to be true though.

That sounds like a good idea actually. I was planning on checking the CarFax on Saturday also.

yea +1 on the idea of checking it out... usually if a subaru/scion dealership isnt selling it at that kinda price per condition and mileage, then there has to be something wrong with it

InactiveZombie 01-21-2014 11:52 PM

This is very true. Well, looks like I know what I have to do. Thanks guys :)

Carfax doesn't always tell the whole story.

Get it inspected by a professional to see if there are signs of damage, repairs, paintwork, etc.

Hmmm, my best friends dad owns a local car shop. Maybe I can ask him to ride along to look at the car.

This is without a doubt what you should do. Also I'm calling him right now to offer $100 over whatever you give him. That's a great deal.

Check the clutch to make sure it's not burned out.
