Auto body nightmare...
So i tried to repair some rock chips on hood and trunk. Used the "scratch wizard" kit i bought online. Afterwards i tried to level the paint with some wet sanding and ended up causing some dimples in the clear.
I then went to a mobile body shop (Sameday) and they filled the dimples in with some clear polymer which caused a very visible halo effect. The final and most recent step was going to a discount body shop (craigslister) and having him repaint my hood and top of trunk. =( Now i'm left with a hood and trunk covered in over-sprayed clear, dust bubbles, edge chipping, and possibly runny paint. I wanted to cry and am not sure what to do with my hood and trunk at this point. I'm taking the car back to him once the clear has more time to harden and he is supposedly going to be able to smooth things out, i'm very skeptical especially with the chipping edges. Any ex-painters out there with some tips? |
go to a reputable place that has good reviews. can't cheap out on body/paint work if you expect good results.

Cheap will always cost you more in the long run. You got to pay to play!!!
