Event 1 Standings - Jan. 18, 2014 @ Streets of Willow Springs CCW Configuration

We had a great turn out yesterday and perfect track weather! Nearly 20 cars showed up with people from San Diego all the way up to the Bay Area. @CounterSpace Garage also gave out some very nice gifts for the inaugural 2014 event ranging from their new Chromoly CSG Spec Lugnuts to gift certificates for discounts on new wheels and suspension parts! Our class podium finishers also went home with plaques to remember their day by courtesy of Extreme Speed.

Event 2 Standings - Feb. 16, 2014 @ Willow Springs International Raceway CW

It was another beautiful day at Willow Springs but this time at the big track! Temps ranged from 55°F in the morning to about 75°F in the afternoon with a clear sky and some heavy crosswinds.

We had several returning competitors as well as handful of new folks and almost everyone walked home with a plaque to commerate their finishes :)

Another track day with the weather gods smiling down upon those willing to make the trek! There was quite a turnout with the day being sold out by ExtremeSpeed and while several folks couldn't get registered in time due to the overflow of participants, we did have 9 make it out and compete!

So this weekend's event had quite the turnout! We had well over 20 FRS/BRZ in attendance and 18 competing in the Winmax 86 CUP. Drivers came from Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles and more all to enjoy the jewel of the desert, Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. And while we were there, we got to check out a wide variety of FRS/BRZ builds and how they all worked on track on the same day and in the same conditions! If we keep this up, it may not be long before we can negotiate for 86 only run groups! :)

Sorry for the delay on this update but we had another huge turnout for the Winmax 86CUP and this time we were at the Streets of Willow running in the CCW configuration! We had our largest array of driver skill, car set ups, and awards ceremony on top of a full day of ride alongs, driver instruction, raffle giveaways and fierce competition! Along with the usual lineup of FRS/BRZ's we were also joined by a number of AE86's looking to defend the legacy of the original 86!

Despite some very toasty California summer heat (nearly 110°F ambient) we had 15 competitors show up to throw down the gauntlet! Our 2nd day at Willow Springs International Raceway (i.e. Big Willow) marked the halfway point in the 86Cup season and the standings have been very interesting. Stock class is wide open but both Street and Mod classes are up for grabs and anything can happen before the end of the year!

We had quite the event for our first and only twilight event of the year! Taking place at Streets of Willow in the CCW configuration we started the day in the late afternoon with everyone scrambling to set their fastest times while the sun was still out. With over 20 FRS/BRZ/AE86's in attendance it was quite a busy day!

Unfortunately, the track organization had problems with their timing booth and transponders so we lost some times from the early sessions :( We did our best to compile everyone's fastest times but some of the problems persisted until the end of the day so a few guys had 0 times recorded. As a result, we awarded participation points for those that didn't get times but were there.

But bad news aside, the best part of the twilight events are the pictures and we have some awesome ones to share:
