Scuff on rear quarter panel
 

Well I certainly have horrible luck, I bought my car yesterday and promptly scuffed perfect thing up today! I was maneuvering out out my parking deck that has a maze of giant wood posts. I had made it through them every day with my old car but I must have misjudged the turn on one and lightly scuffed up my driver's side quarter panel. There's no denting or disforming of the panel and it doesn't extend to the bumper. Still, I'm cringing from having hurt my baby, especially so soon. :cry:

Could any body/paint experts chime in with how bad this is from a repair perspective?

EDIT: I managed to get it out with rubbing compound, leaving this up in case anyone else has a similar issue.

Looks like a rubbing compound, scratch remover, and nice wax with buff should take care of it. I have heard others state that a detail shop has the materials to take care of something this benign if your personal attempt fails. It stinks when it happens so soon. Yet it's bound to happen sooner or later. I plowed a hay bale on the interstate doing 80 mph. Shit happens.

I could have sworn it was through the paint but I had some rubbing compound laying around and went to town, I'd say I got it back to about 95%, you can still see some light scratches but I'll pick up some scratch remover and hit it with that. At least all of the discolored marks are gone.

Looks great! Meguir's or 3M Scratch Remover are the best. Clear coat is quite resilient.
