Decay's Ultramarine Trackrat, now with less warranty!

Great color choice! ;)
Btw, your FR-S is coming along nicely...looks sweet. Where did you find you spoiler? Thanks! |
Thanks!
The previous owner actually bought and had the spoiler installed at a Subaru dealer in the area, I wouldn't have believed it, but I have the receipt for the work. |
Did some work today, got the Oil Cooler and bumper beam installed. Also realized just how big the washer fluid reservoir was so I drained it.

So in the past few weeks I've installed a nameless header and Perrin motor mounts.
Currently I'm fighting some rasp, and am trying to decide between my HKS, the stock muffler, or a track pipe. Each sounds good under certain conditions, but none sound good at all times. |
Here are some exhaust clips

Also added coilovers today. Ride is quite good, stiff, but not at all crashy. I'll probably be getting corner balanced and aligned next week.
|
Added Whiteline subframe and diff bushing inserts, no real noticeable increase in NVH. Also added some poly exhaust hangers to stop my straight pipe from flopping around
|
Corner balance and alignment done today, front end bites VERY hard now. All that safety factory under-steer has been replaced by front end GRIP. Rear end is a lot more likely to oversteer, but I've just got to get used to the new way the car feels
Corner balance revealed that my car weighs 2775 with topped off tank and driver :happyanim: Alignment is an aggressive street/track set up with 3.1 degrees negative static camber per side up front with zero toe. out back there is a little bit of positive toe and around 1.4 degrees negative camber. |
Track pipe was WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD, I'm pleasantly surprised how much the Nameless muffled track pipe cuts volume without sacrificing aggressive tone

Doug - I installed my muffled track pipe today - thought you might appreciate the trick I came up with for a diffuser. I just used the stock heat shield for the stock muffler, the one that is bolted to the chassis. I made some brackets for it to move it down into the air-stream. It's not perfect, but has to be a step in the right direction. When I get a plug for the passenger side exhaust hole, I'll have to extend it somehow... but that's a problem for another day.
Here are some pix. http://becausehonda.com/system/files...DSC_0030-2.jpg http://becausehonda.com/system/files...C_0046-2_0.jpg http://becausehonda.com/system/files...DSC_0021_0.jpg http://becausehonda.com/system/files...DSC_0013-2.jpg http://becausehonda.com/system/files...DSC_0011_0.jpg |
Nice I'll have to try that.
Wish I would have see this before today, I could have given it some proper track testing  |

Ran into some issues with the Grimmspeed intake and my oil cooler
http://s8.postimg.org/jmcfcyrqd/20141108_124831_1.jpg http://s30.postimg.org/qfa7ndfzl/rec...7a3b8a7e29.jpg And the header melting the stock resonator (after a LOT of track time) http://s27.postimg.org/5p1x2rjoj/20141108_124654.jpg For now I've drilled out the rivets on the resonator and removed it. I read some stuff about how that screws up low RPM maf readings, but I'll be the judge of that myself after looking at some logs. I'll be looking in to modifying the Grimmspeed to fit. |
