What I DIDN'T do to my FR-S today

Rant...

I bought my FR-S a week ago. Since it's "Pure Pricing" they wouldn't budge on the sticker price, so we negotiated the inclusion of accessories instead.

I was going to write out the whole ordeal, but to summarize I kept getting a run around all week and the most frustrating part yet was me wasting my ENTIRE day today because the parts/service guy kept telling me to call him back because he had to confirm the parts were actually in, finally at 5pm he says to come on into the dealership he's going to go get the parts and the install will be done.

I get there, wait and about an hour later I find out that the parts are NOT actually in!! :mad0260: And the new "estimate" is "maybe" on Monday (which is a public holiday, so I'm not holding my breath!).

/Rant

Sorry to hear that. Your profile says a 2013 FR-S, I hope you saved some money vs buying the 2014.

I think that's his point, he wanted to save money but couldn't because of the pure pricing. So insted he was supposed to get extra options to cover the depreciation... and is getting screwed around with. IMO.
Sucks man, but if it's in your purchase contract, they can't put you off forever.

Pure pricing is complete shit, dealerships will negotiate the price if you really know what you are doing. Im not just saying this to blow smoke, I negotiated a deal on my car which they had to discount to get to a bottom line price and payment. I also just helped my uncle negotiate for his brand new Tundra, he paid 2K less than "true price".

I can't imagine how many accessories he must have gotten (at least on paper so far) for that deal to make sense if the 2013 started at the same price (or close enough) as the 2014.

Thanks guys, definitely frustrating.

The add-ons I'm waiting on are:
* TRD Air Intake (Already have the TRD Exhaust)
* Mudguards
* All Weather mats
* Trunk Guard
* Cargo Tote

I've had to go back; once to finish up the paperwork because they weren't able to charge the full down-payment from my credit card in 1 transaction (so I had to go back with a check). Then today, the guy kept leading me on about the parts should be in, but it's busy and he needs some time to check (so I wasted the day hanging around waiting on his calls), I'm finally told to head-in to get it done...Wait an hour in the waiting area (I brought my son with me mind you, and kids are NOT patient), then was told the parts are actually NOT ready. :mad0260:

So now I've got to go back yet again!

If I were superstitious I'd think these were bad omens, but I'm actually more about Karma and hope this is actually all the bad karma now, so it's smoother sailing to come.

I know it's annoying having your time wasted like that, Hope you get it all handled with the next trip.
I got two free oil changes with my purchase, but will never use them. I don't even trust the dealer to change the oil. (not that all dealers are bad), but even when they are on the up and up, they have no reason(besides work ethic) to consider your time.

Well, now, Namuna ......that's got to be frustrating.

However, you have your new car and it will run just fine for a few days without those extras.

I suggest you save yourself further grief by spending some time driving your son around, while you need to keep the car under 4000 rpms, then stop in a movie he would like see ("Frozen" - maybe).

The next day would be a good time for reading the drivers manual and washing, clay baring & waxing your new car.

By then, it will be almost Tuesday ..... :thumbup:

I thought this was gonna be one of those opposite threads. GL to the OP.

But I was gonna post that I did not buy and put on 10lb 16 inch wheels today along with a lightweight clutch and flywheel, along with koni struts, and then headers and a tune. Def did not do that today.

Good job on NOT doing any of those things!

I never understood people on the forum who buy a 2013 and pay full price and claim pure pricing as the reason. I walked out the door and the dealer called me back before I even got home offering me 1500 off. I countered with 3k off. I bought my 2013 four months ago and paid 2,800 off MSRP.

This right here.... Dont be afraid to walk out, if the deal is not good walk and watch them crumble. If they dont lower their prices go elsewhere its that easy because theres always gona be someone with a better deal.

Didn't put pump 93 octane into my baby (costs fucking $5.70 where I live), instead I pumped 91. :c

Mind me asking what your total msrp was after taxes and registration? Only thing i got off was a 600$ 2013 clearace thing. And even that they tried to hide it from me. I went to about 5 scion dealers around my area and walked out of all of them. Finally found one that was the cheapest and even that was just about 1k from the average price.
