Me: The car is in the shade right now so of course you won't really see anything.
Service manager: I don't see anything.
Me (in my head): No shit...

My car will be getting buffed.

Holy cow...didn't wash it, just gave it a good wipe down with sandpaper

Burrcold 01-18-2014 01:11 AM

WTF?? This is why I have 3 printed signs that I put on the dash and seats that say "DO NOT WASH"

stugray 01-18-2014 01:17 AM

What the hell did they do to it?
That's not just from washing...

It looks like they dragged dirty air hose over it a few dozen times

Mr.EvoMR 01-18-2014 01:20 AM

WOW. F*ck dealerships.

humfrz 01-18-2014 01:30 AM

It appears that Bubba "washed" it with a broom and water from a hog trough ....

Yep, like said above, I have a sign that I tape to the dash "do NOT wash this car".

I hope they square it away for you.

Perfect way to describe the actions that were performed.

I know that feeling, except for me, it looked like this the day I picked it up. They washed it just before delivery and messed it up.

Same here, had to get mine polished by an independent detailer to fix all the DISO.

Don't let the dealership fix this, hire a guy to do it. I took a peek on the detail shop at my dealership, was using old rotary buffers on brand new cars, mopping cars with a brush, and using dirty towels to dry the car. Eek.

However I can give props to one dealership in Albuquerque, NM who washed my car, and did a good job with it and didn't scratch the paint. This was after I had driven across the desert so I was glad for the extra service.

That's what I'm scared of too.
Any idea how much an independent detailed would charge? Or even how much it would cost in tools to do it myself?

You can get a "beginner" detail kit for about $80, but the skill to use it properly is many invested hours. I know a guy up here who does house calls and an amazing job for $100. Shops run $100-250 depending on the services, and location.

If you noticed my pictures, I took the car the way it was that same night to a detailer because I already had an appointment with him for Opti-Guard. He polished and paint corrected my car and Opti-Guarded it all for $250 including 3 polish passes, and I live in a pretty expensive city so you could get it fixed for pretty cheap.
