No Rinse Washes
 

Just a question. My car has some dirt and salt from the snow.. And I'm planning to use Optimum No Rinse Wash and Wax.. However, I'm wondering if salt and dirt will marr or swirl my paint?

Look at the picture below for the tiny salt on the paint.
So basically, I'm using ONR Wash and Wax, and I will use microfiber cloth. But I'm wondering if the dirt and salt will swirl my paint when I put my cloth to wipe down the car.

Just wash whatever method you prefer for now and buff those paint in Spring, at least that's my plan.

Because my car has salt on it.. I'm afraid that if I put the microfiber cloth against the paint, it will scratch it..

Youre not pushing on the paint, if your scared of the salt, go to a car wash pressure wash it and then do the rinseless wash

i pre soak really salty/dirty panels with ONR at quick detailer strength before using a towel. use as little pressure as possible on the first pass.

I'm not pushing on it. I'm just going to let the own weight of the towel wipe on the paint. I guess I'll just use a pressure sprayer ..

Been using ONR on mine without issue. Fell in love with the stuff. I soak 4 microfiber towels in the bucket. I use 1 rag for each section of the car to prevent buildup. I'm in love with that stuff. Washed my car in my garage last night while it was 20 degrees out. Doesn't get any better. :cheers:

If you can see visible bits of dirt stuck to the car I would at least rinse it first. If the dirt is more of a light film/coating then can wash with the no rinse.

Personally I won't no rinse wash if I have driven through salt/snow storm. Ill foam cannon and rinse first then wash with ONR. Also, clean the wheels first so you don't throw all that crap onto the clean paint from the wheel brush.

I disagree with the rinse it first mentality for your situation. Unless dirt is overwhelmingly caked on. No rinse is the whole point of the product and that's what the polymers are for. I honestly believe some light swirl marks cannot be prevented no matter what. Microfiber towels will leave light marks over time. It's not a big deal and why you simply have your car properly detailed at least once a year. Also you don't have to "scrub" with this product. Just wipe it on.

Now you have a silver car. You won't see marks nearly the same way that you will a darker color. Use the 4 rag method I talked about above.

You cannot just rinse less wash sometimes you have to do a traditional wash. If there is caked on stuff its got to be rinsed off. Simple as that. And sometimes there's caked on salt.

I agree if it's caked on. His pics above is not even close. Just specs of dirt. If I have a heavy soiled car off to the touch less car wash I go. But that's rare for me.
