STI vs TRD Exhaust

I tried searching but didn't find what I'm looking for. Which do more people prefer? Does one sound better than the other or give more performance gains? I'd like to stay within warranty if I get an exhaust so just trying to find input on the two.
If there is already a discussion about this please send me the link.
Thanks!

I got the TRD exhaust and I absolutely love mine. I can't say how it compares to the STi exhaust because I've neither seen or heard one in person, but I doubt you'd regret either one of them.

Although, I got TRD because I have an FR-S. If I had a BRZ, I would have gotten the STi. I'm kind of anal like that lol.

If you're looking to stay in warranty, the USDM TRD exhaust is your only choice. Despite the STi and TRD branding on the JDM exhausts, because they are not officially offered for sale in the US, they will not be covered under warranty as they are considered grey market parts (no part number exists in the US database for them). With that said, I have the STi exhaust, its pretty mellow in sound so if you're looking for more aggressive sound without being increasing sound levels by a significant amount, its a good choice. There's practically no gains for the STi exhaust as its an axleback vs TRD's catback.

I doubt an exhaust will void your warranty. Just take it off and put your stock exhaust back on if you're concerned when you need to bring it in for warranty service.

A CB exhaust won't hurt your warranty.

Also, if you're planning on doing a CAI in the future, you could do a TRD intake and exhaust combo. It's what I did to stay under warranty as well because I got them as dealer options, and the intake really livens up the throttle response, and dyno's have shown decent gains with the combo.
