[2014 FR-S] Top Exhaust List Mash-Up

Hey,

I was wondering if experts like you could share the top 10 exhaust rated by sound, performance, look and flexibility.

Also, what do you think of the exhaust Invidia N1 for average performance and sound?

fx35s 01-15-2014 01:43 AM

For price.. you can't go wrong with Invidia N1, and for those that like bassy catback this is it.

If you're looking at other catbacks that may or may not be more expensive than Invidia N1, you might wanna check catbacks from M7 and Perrin.

If you are not too tight on a budget, try M7.

With M7 your car will not be an "ultimate driving machine" but it'll sound like one. :)

Haha, thanks. What's the major difference of M7 vs N1 Exhausts? My friend told me N1 have rumble noises and are loud enough. Is that true? Is M7 louder and add more to the performance? Does it rumble?

Sound is subjective to owner. You won't gain much with just a catback. You will lose weight if anything. This has been discussed thousands of times. Just search and listen to Youtube videos.

I am searching, asking, posting, looking and watching. I saw that UEL is loud but what is the difference of catbacks, headers and all that?

If you're looking to add more to the performance.. catback won't do the justice! Seemed like going FI or Supercharger is only option for us.

With regards to the sound.. I don't know what defines "rumble" but to me N1 is just all bass and nothing more.

I know lot of guys that have N1s and they like them, but I don't. lol

M7 has more refined note to my ears :)

And lastly... the MAJOR difference between N1 and M7 is the price lol

You can get more than 2 N1s with the price of 1 M7.

$100 Trackpipe.

$1000 on something else that makes a difference.

Headers add more rumble to the car. The catback will change the sound of the car depending on which exhaust you decide to get. When you add a different frontpipe (catted or catless) or overpipe it will also enhance on the sound of the car. There are many exhaust combinations that you can choose.

You can't actually rate the exhausts on sound and looks because everyone has their own preference. To me the N1 is loud for most people but I think it is quiet. M7 and HKS are a pretty good exhausts but it cost a lot. N1 and Perrin are pretty popular.

Hello Mikeez ..... http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...mages/wave.gif

Well, there a lot of parameters to consider. Header, cat (or not), down pipe, over pipe, mid pipe and muffler(s)(or not).

The closer you get to the head, in opening up the exhaust system, the more power can be realized.

The more you open it up .... the louder it gets.

Of course, the more "sections" you open up, the more it costs.

So, what are you looking for? Performance, sound, drivability, looks? What is your "exhaust budget"?

Give us a little to go on so we can help you out .....http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...ages/smile.gif

I recently installed my M7 and it sounds sooooooooo goood! It's so good that I think it may be a little too loud getting out of first gear. For me, I'd go with something that built with quality than to buy something that does sound and look nice but is made with lower end quality. That's not to say that I won't buy anything cheap because I will but if my research does justify my spending a little more for something more durable and worth the longevity, I will. A lot of other variables go into deciding the "perfect" or "top" exhausts. Additionally sound is a subjective thing- varying from one to another.

i originally bought the berk track pipe w/ tip as a simple "for now" solution for a better look and some added sound over stock. i honestly loved the sound of my track pipe so much that i've kept it and won't be changing the whole catback. we'll see how loud it gets with an aftermarket header, etc., but i will be keeping the track pipe until the noise level gets out of hand with other added aftermarket parts. the berk track pipe/muffler delete that i have has proven to gain more power than almost every catback out there too. can't lose for less than $150
