Performamce Catalytic Converters.

On this forum I've yet seen anyone speak of using higher flowing Catalytic Converters. It's either using the one that came with the car or just going illegal on the streets without using a Catalytic converter at all.

For instance its either using an exhaust manifold up to the converter then using an exhaust system that may run all the way up to it. Or just running a bespoke system track setup.

With how much some of you turbo guys are developing I'm sure something like a 300 CELL Catalytic Converter would be sufficient.

Just wondering why I don't hear much discussion on said topic?

You either stay legal or be illegal for public use. Touching the factory emission systems is not legal, but that doesn't stop people from doing so. The HFC that we have in inventory are for off-road use and use a 200-cell honeycomb core. There are a few reasons why people go with HFC over going test pipe/straight pipe.

1. Smell
2. Potential hassle from law enforcement
3. Competition classing

Either way, if you plan to get the most out of that setup, you will need to tune it for maximum gains and safety.

On a Porsche it does make a lot of power. :) We have access to 100-cell cats, except it actually doesn't really yield much on our tiny engines. Might as well go test pipe at that point.
