Enkei RP03 vs Kosei K4R vs Kosei K1 TS
I've decided after much research to finally go with some 17x8 wheels. I'd prefer that in the end the wheel/tire combo be lighter than stock. I plan on using these as my daily driver/spirited driving/occasional track set, and put snow tires on the stock wheels for winter.
I've also decided on 225/45R17 Dunlop Direzza ZIIs...I think. I am less solid on this one because despite trying to read about the pros/cons of different tire sizes, I still only have a rough understanding at best. I realize that particular tire size is not very different from the stock, but should give more grip and better response? I could go wider...but that would be more weight and I'm not sure I'd really use that extra width. Finally, onto the wheels... I've come down to three: The Enkei Racing RP03s, Kosei K1 TSes, and the Kosei K4Rs. The Koseis win in terms of being the lightest at 15.5lbs and 15.8lbs respectively. They are also cheaper. The Enkeis are 17.9 lbs which is a little heavier on each corner, but I'm wondering if that also means stronger? Since I'm going to be using these as my daily driver wheels, I'd prefer they not bend at the tiniest bump. Thoughts? Anyone with experiences with these wheels (or tires for that matter) care to share? the k4r is probably the best in terms of performance and price but i think they are ugly.

I plan on going 17x8, as well, but I'm leaning towards Pilot Super Sports. I have Direzza Z1 Star Specs (which are fairly worn) on my M3 and they are very noisy but grip very well. Unless the ZIIs have improved wet performance over the ZIs, I'm not convinced they are the safest for daily driving.
I think the K4Rs look the best from your options. No experience with any. They don't look too small and I'm a fan of gunmetal/grey on this car. I added them to my shortlist. |

also I'm less asking about aesthetics and more about safety and performance (although I do appreciate your opinions as well) |
I would go for the Enkei wheels.

do you not like RPF1's?
out of those....looks wise, i like the K4Rs actually |
The weight and strength (performance and safety) are so close that unless you are a champion racer the differences will not make a difference. Nor will you be able to notice. Thus, the only thing that really matters is which set you prefer to look at. Tires will be your real performance-setting purchase. Good luck.

I really like the K4Rs look and weight. I've thought about getting them for my winter wheels.
