I had a guy in a seventh gen Celica pull up and stop to tell me how sweet my car is. There's also another FR-S here in the same color and we see each other often, he always waves. I'm female AND drive a manual. Weeeird...

it all revolves around getting the most bang for your buck. the honda crowd was/is popular because hondas are cheap to find and parts are interchangeable. VWs are quite affordable now too, as well as Subarus (primarily WRXs). This affordability also brings in a lot of the undesirable douchebag owners that make the rest of the owners look bad. Eventually the twins will fall into this category, and we'll be plagued with those owners as well, if it hasn't started already.

If you are not able to afford them, there are no good/better cars here. The GT86 is the cheapest RWD car you can get here. Everything else starts from 50K (BMW M235i).

I just flash my brights during the day. At night I don't bother because I would probably blind people, and it's doubtful anyone can see me. If we're side by side, then you get a nod or thumbs up.

I pulled up to a chic side by side in a BRZ once, I gave her the thumbs up, she smiled and nodded.

Cakewalk.

The only difficult scenarios are when people are coming up from behind me. I think I saw Vader's 86 on Dale Mabry a while ago on my way to the hobby shop. Looked like he sped up behind me, but no real way for me to acknowledge him.

It is funny that we have the same threads in other forums I've been in. I try to wave at other FR-S owners but mostly get ignored. It is more enthusiasts that wave back. This is the same in the Ferrari community. The Corvette community seems to have more comrade on the road. BMW Z4 owners seem to rarely wave back as well.

My dad owns a z4 and is a complete **** on the road. Then again, he is to anyone around him that's not family so that may be a normal stigma for those types of people haha

A simple brake check ought to get his attention... :bonk::thumbup:

I passed a white FR-S yesterday in San Marcos, CA while in my FR-S and waved (no wave back). I passed a blue FR-S today on the backroads (Highland Valley) in my F355, going opposite direction, and waved (we both were going too fast to see if he waved back or not).

Havn't had another twin driver acknowledge me, but I've had plenty of other drivers of modified or notable cars give me a nod or thumbs up. That and a few guys on bicycles and a group of national guardsmen fueling their fleet of hummers too.
