LeMans Karting 1/11/14 4pm

I'm hosting an impromptu karting event. Met some owners at the Dublin meet tonight who are going.

*** ONLY 13 SPOTS AVAILABLE *** with the indoor and outdoor sections being combined this day for a bigger and funner track. ;)

The $50 Triple Play package is recommended which includes 3 runs and free head sock/helmet rental. There are also $20/1 run and $40/2 run options within our planned 4pm time slot. 30 minute instructional video/kart operation briefing required for first timers. Friends are welcome til the maximum 13 spots are filled (other parties and walk-ins can take those spots, not just the people you see listed as "Going" on this event page). Call LeMans Karting at 510-770-9001 to reserve your spot within the 4pm slot. Briefing starts at 4pm, runs start at 4:30pm.

Let's kart!

Myself plus looks like 3 other 86 owners + a few other car enthusiasts. Looks like about 7 out of 13 spots are filled if they indeed reserved (note the 13 spots are open for reservation to the general public/walk-ins, not only our group). I'm adding the event description to the OP in case you can't see it on fb.

Would go, but studying for an exam. :(

Will this be a regular thing? I have two friends who are always looking for a bigger group because we hate driving on the track with slow/new drivers!

Hey guys,

Hope everyone who attended had fun. I'd be interested in hearing any feedback you might have!

If you're looking for more competitive events, our next Car Club Challenge race is coming up on Sunday, February 23rd. This forum has some pretty fast drivers so we'd love to see you represented. For those who haven't heard of the race, it's a 2.5-hour endurance race for teams of up to 5 people. Each race we've held so far has been a lot of fun with intense, but friendly competition. As always, we'll be having our all-you-can-eat street tacos lunch afterwards, and prizes for the top-finishing teams. Let me know if you'd like more details.

It was pretty awesome. I originally invited friends then opened it up to the NorCal 86 community. 3 of the guys who went are regulars (2 track their BMWs, and one with a G37 participated in your endurance races a couple years ago). There was also a guy who tracks his Prelude and a couple FR-S/BRZ guys were there. We had a pretty full line up (10 max due to the outdoor conditions but we split up to 8 in our main group and 2 with another group due to people arriving at different times).

My only gripe is my first kart (my fastest time) kept choking in idle and couldn't start up for the second run. So they switched me to a kart that didn't have a 4 point harness (just a regular seatbelt) and its pedals randomly unlatched/slipped forward during my run. When they buckled mid-turn, my kart would unsettle, I'd hit the walls and I got flagged with the "no bumping" warning quite a few times. So they switched me to a kart with almost no traction. I was drifting through every corner and though it was my slowest run, it was also my funnest. I think my last 2 karts were not supposed to be run and supposed to be decommissioned for service but I guess there was a shortage and people hardly always get perfect karts in my short experience (this was my 3rd time ever karting).
