Car broken into - no replacement windows yet

Last weekend someone broke into my car through passenger side window. The "secure" parking garage apparently not so much, and unfortunately no security camera except at entrance. I don't leave anything in my car so I just have to replace window but it's becoming a huge pain.

Talked to two glass shops, Safelite and a local place I've had good experience with in the past. Both are unable to source a window. Something about 2014's not being available. The window should be same as 2013 right? How can they not have glass for this car?

Local place said the OEM windows for 2014 aren't even in country until Jan 11th according to some subaru dealer they talked to. Have not talked to my local service manager yet but will tomorrow to try to find out more information there.

Just curious if anyone else has had any problems getting their side windows replaced. While a month old car getting vandalized sucks not being able to drive it for weeks will be worse.

Damn, that sucks. Have you tried the dealer?

Just duct tape a plastic bag as a window for now :)

The window is the same at the 2013

Look for wrecked cars that are being parted out

Yeah I just like confirmation I'm not the crazy one when I try and tell them it's the same car and would have the same part #. After another 45 mins on the phone today I got that point across and now have an appointment for Monday to get it fixed.

There's no reason at all that a car company should start selling cars that it is not prepared already to have replacement parts for. So, yeah, the whole thing about 2014's not being ready is just smoke being blown up the tailpipe.

I was rear-ended a WEEK into owning my 2014 Limited back in November, and the repair shop was able to source OEM replacement parts still.... got her back in 12 days.
