Damn, I might have to change my name now to frs_guy. LOL!

Jokes aside, the BRZ, FRS has the same platform, same motor, with very minor differences.

Thanks for sharing. Great review!

Awesome review...one of the best yet. Makes me glad I sold my car today :) Cannot wait to drive this thing

There's something strange about those lap times. A V6 mustang lapping faster than an Evo X AND a Ford GT? :/ doesn't seem right

LOL:

"Uhhhhhh...Sunroof? Who gives a shit." HAHAHA

Great review! It was good to hear a good review from a real professional winning sports car driver. Thank You Randy Pobst! One thing I wanted to hear about is how it drove going up hill while he was driving in Malibu. I want to know how it powers up hill.
This review excites me more and I will be getting one in june. I can't wait!!!

2011 BMW M3 1:27.67
2011 Mustang GT 1:27.76

To show how much of a difference the driver makes, here are the times with a journalist driving:

2011 BMW M3 1:32.07
2011 Mustang GT 1:31.52

On the plus side, this shows that Randy behind the wheel of an FR-S (1:31.15) is quicker than a decent driver in an M3 or Mustang GT. The best mod is the driver mod :)

yeah but still those are some good times regardless being down 105 hp and almost 120 tq, the lap times tell you how good that chassis really is...

the fr-s is slower than a mustang gt by 3.6 seconds, its down over 200 hp and 240 tq and runs on Prius tires(its getting overused by now lol)...

if you can get that guy laughing with joy over a car, it only means good things

He called it lively. I like lively.

0 to 60 in 6.2 secs!!!! So this car is faster than the BRZ? Upper 5 secs is entirely possible...I know 0 to 60 don't matter, but this car is definitely not slow...

pr0j 05-01-2012 02:28 AM

great to see the hot lava in action, for those considering it.

Mechanically they're like 98% the same car, why would one be faster than the other? Shouldn't compare times of two cars with different drivers in different settings.
