ONTARIO - FRS DEMO DAY on MAY 8th
1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys,
Here's a chance for everyone that missed the KC appearance to get a good look at the FRS. According to their fb wall. Cambridge Scion will be have an FRS at their dealership on Tuesday MAY 8th from 9:00am to 12:00PM no word on colour or trim - but I'm betting it's the Red 6MT that's been making the rounds so far. ==================UPDATES!!======================= So as I've mentioned above Cambridge Scion had a demo day today where everyone who came out not only got to see the car in person but also take it for a spin around the Cambridge area. It was a Silver FRS much like the one being shown in Mississauga except this one was an Automatic. Drive Impressions. While in full auto the drive was relatively tame. To get it any where near five grand you really had to put the foot down. The exhaust note was barely audible for the two blocks i had it in auto. The real fun was when you put it into manual mode with the paddle shifters. Being able to hold it in second gear while taking sharp corners to "test that low center of gravity" the exhaust note really opens up and reminds you of whats under the hood. to quote Cory the Manager of Cambridge Scion "it really doesn't become alive until above the 3500rpm to 4000rpm range" to which i completely agree with. Being in Full Auto, you'll rarely stay above that range...unless you drive like a man with a foot encased in lead. haha Driving on a daily basis in manual mode with the paddle shifters I wouldn't recommend since I had a good 10 minute test drive and I was already getting weary of them. Be it the lack of feedback or the fact that I'm not used to driving with both hands of the wheel - I found it awkward. So the IS trip-tonic shifters didn't sell me and I'll still be getting a 6 speed manual. Being a bigger guy (6ft - 211lbs - 22" shoulder to shoulder) the seats felt fine and I didn't have any problems with moving around. Coming from an Accord I'll have to admit that visibility will be something I'll have to adapt to. Turning your head left to check your blind spot, all you see is the pillar. Turn your head right and that tiny port hole of a back window doesn't really help. Mirrors my friends - make sure you remember to set them up properly on your test drive...i didn't haha. All in all a great day. The people over at Cambridge Scion are great guys and gals. They knew their stuff when it came to the car and Justin one of the sales guys even talked about buying a FRS as his summer car and making his new TC a winter beater haha. If you guys are ever in the Cambridge area I would stop in and just have a chat since everyone there seemed like proper car people and it's refreshing to see a dealership talk about the car like we do here on the forums. and now pictures! http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7225/7...003d9103_c.jpg Attachment 7164 http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8165/7...f72859ea_c.jpg ^ I asked and was shocked to hear that the car is stock ride height. The wheel gap in person is a lot smaller looking then in pictures. |
