Pioneer ALCP-W13U (FR-S head unit) RCA ports: inputs or outputs?

2 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know if the red and white RCA ports on the back of the base model head unit are inputs or outputs? I was assuming they were inputs, but I can't select them on the interface for anything. So now I'm wondering if they're actually outputs.

If they are inputs... HOW DO YOU GET THEM TO WORK!?

I've installed it in my girlfriend's Corolla already, and the ultimate goal is just for her to be able to play music from an external device via a cord. I thought this would be really simple and work right away, but clearly I was mistaken.

They're RCA outputs for subs.

Turn them on by turning the radio off, push and hold the volume knob. You'll see a way to turn it on from there.

AWWWW!! So disappointed.

Thanks though.

No problem!

The 2013 doesn't come with the aux and USB input like the 2014?

Edit: you've probably ripped it out of your dash and forgot it was even there

Why by a cord? Get her a bluetooth capable portable audio player and a power adapter for the car.
Of course, I am assuming the bluetooth on this H/U supports audio players.

That's EXACTLY what happened. After my last post, but before yours just now, I discovered the port in a box in my storage room. So then I went digging in my FR-S and found the cable still in the car, not attached to anything - just hanging out in there. So then I installed it in my girlfriend's car and it totally works.

Because 1/4" cords are compatible with pretty much everything. If suddenly a friend gets in the car with a Sony Walkman Cassette Player and wants to play a song... it would work.

We like to be prepared.

Friends don't let friends listen to cassettes. :)

I actually saw an adapter to pop into a cassette player and make it bluetooth compatible the other day. Talk about being married to your H/U. Damn.
