Car Washes VA

Anyone know some good car washes in northern Virginia that won't swirl up the paint or use harsh chemicals to clean the car? The snowstorm made my car dirty...

There is a brushless carwash at a Sunoco station in Falls Church. Behind the SweetWater micro brewery/restaurant. Its a bit pricey, but wont damage/scratch the car for a good winter wash. + underspray

So its like high pressure water wash right?
Is there place in centreville, Fairfax, Vienna, Manassas, Ashburn, or Sterling that has good washes?

Theres a touchless car wash at the sunoco in fairfax on west ox road near fairfax county parkway. There is also a bay car wash at the corner of 29 and blake ln in vienna where you can pay to wash your own car. Its like 5 bucks.

Mainstreet is a pretty good car wash, they are expensive but they do good. -its in chantilly/south riding right by me

shell gas station in centreville, corner of union mill and rt 29 has touchless wash
touchless will use harsh chemicals but good for a quick wash..

what you want is a good quality place that knows how to do proper hand wash.

Will those harsh chemical ruin the clear coat? (Does touchless wash undercarriage? Don't want a rustbucket few years down the road.)
I would do a proper hand wash myself.. But the weather is freezing cold.. Don't want my fingers to fall off.
Those hand wash places, I'm afraid they will swirl the paint. :|

The chemicals will not "ruin" anything after a few washes. The chemicals/detergents are sprayed on, and washed off.

The ones recommended above include underspray, which is what you're really going to need. I use the wash in Falls Church personally, I think its $8 for a full wash w/underspray.

Note: My previous car (SRT-4) was winter washed in a brushless system twice a month during the winter for 9 years. Never had a paint issue.

Happy washing!

I never used tocuhless car washes before. Dont want to seem like an idiot when I go. Just a final question, how do they dry the car?

After the "wash" there are a series of warm high-powered fans as you exit the wash. Drive super-slow, like inch forward and stop for a few moments. Repeat until the car is dried off for the most part.

I personally use the touchless at the Express Stop off Old Keene Mill around the Burke area. Doesn't hurt that it has the cheapest gas in the entire area either. Something like $6 or $7 for a wash with undercarriage spray

the roads to get into the actual car wash are like little hills cause of the sewers for draining purposes but it shouldnt be a problem cause you can drive around it. The actual car wash is fine as long as you have an inch or two

I use VRY Auto Detail, which happens to be right down the building from our shop in Sterling. They do a great job, and a hand car wash is quite reasonable. Give them a ring.
