Greddy Evo3 Catback with aftermarket headers

My car's currently running a Greddy Evo3 Catback and NamelessPerformance Downpipe with the high flow cat and resonator.

Does anyone have headers on a similar setup or know of a video somewhere? I love the sound of my car currently, but I don't want it to change too much with aftermarket headers. I'm leaning towards getting a catted EL header as of now.

Greddy Evo3 Catback with aftermarket headers

Funny... I also have the Evo3 catback (loving it, too), have been very close to pulling the trigger on the Nameless OP/DP combo and now considering the upcoming FT86 SF header!
Would you have any video of your current setup? Is it loud?

JDogg 01-05-2014 12:06 AM

I don't have a video, but def get the Namless combo with the cat and resonator. I heard without those add-ons, it's stupid loud. The resonator helps with the drone, I wouldn't say the drone is bad below 70-75mph. Also I plugged up the Noise Tube hole to reduce cabin noise. I highly suggest that as well.

I wish someone threw headers on their Greddy EVO3 so I don't have to be the first haha

Oh and the nameless combo with the cat and resonator actually reduces the noise and drone of just the catback. So don't worry about your car becoming louder. The deep exhaust note is retained with the nameless setup as well. Let me know what you think if you end up going that route.

Do you still have the silencers on the Evo3? I tried without for one day... Not for me.

I run the car without them, never tried them lol I'm used to a fully catless 3" turbo back exhaust on my old Evo IX, so my current setup is pretty civil in comparison.

That's good to know, I was worried about that... Thanks.

It won't be tame at all once you add a header (former VIII, X, and Ralliart SportBack Owner here).

The stock header muffles a LOT of sound and kills a ton of rasp. I went to an FA30 club catted long tube after doing the catted nameless front pipe and custom single exit catback... it was a way bigger change than i was expecting. The rasp is difficult to tame once you remove the stock header. The FT86speedfactory catted uel might end up being the best of both worlds..

Then I'll probably wait for that, or maybe even an EL FT86Speedfactory header if they ever release one.

I've been running this combo for just under a year without silencers. I don't feel it got much louder, if at all when I put the header on. Granted going from EL to UEL may disguise the difference just because it's drastically different sounding anyway by the nature of UELs. No video, sorry guys.

The EVO 3 is pretty loud as is. Although, I love the tone of the EVO 3 i am considering implementing an additional resonator because I'm getting old haha.

Hmmm thanks for the info, are you running any resonators or high flow cats? I don't mind the volume of my current setup, so if it doesn't alter too much, I'd do it.

How long have you guys had your EVO3 exhaust? The reason why I'm asking is because when I originally had mine I didn't like the sound without the silencers because the drone was stupid insane. I drove the car with the exhaust for another 5k miles before taking the silencers off for an AutoX event and it didn't bother me anymore.

tbertran 01-19-2014 09:51 PM

Been a couple of months and 3k miles for me. Still not considering taking out the silencers.. Plenty loud as is.

JDogg 01-19-2014 09:51 PM

I've had mine for about 5-10k miles, and the exhaust def got quieter over time. Not exactly sure why... I've always had my silencers off as well.
