Dealer damages car during warranty repair, need advice.

So I took my car in the other day to get my car's weather channel strip replaced under warranty because it was ripping. During the install they end up having to replace the whole tiny quarter window along with the weather strip in order to properly fix it.

Got upset that they replaced the window because it was tinted AND they did not even bother to tell me the window was going to get replaced. Had they told me that was going to be replaced, I would of said NVM. A little rip in the weather stripping was definitely not worth another trip and money at the tint shop.

What really bugs me even more is that during the fix, they ended up ripping another piece of weather stripping in an area right next to where they worked on.. Sure they were willing to replace the tint after I called them out on the extra rip. But after I drove home, I discovered a tiny little dent on the beam between the windshield and the quarter window.

Went back the next work day and they immediately denied it and refused to fix it or compensate me even though the dent is right next to the window they replaced.

It is a very tiny dent and is almost impossible to see in the shade, but shine some light and its quite visible. (See attached photo)

Can anyone offer any advice for me on how I can go about this? How much would it cost to repair it? Should I push to try and have them fix it again? Should I take this to court and file a small claims case?

That's why I hate taking my car to dealer for any service. I always inspect my car before leaving just like they do when I come in. Speak directly with service manager in a calm manner. Because if you get angry at them they will try to deny your claim by any means necessary.

I would make the service advisor walk around the car prior and make a note of any damages. So both parties can't blame each other.

What dealer is this? I'm in San Diego as well.

I had a similar issue with Mossy. Keep "squeaking" It took me going to the owner of the dealership to get my replaced strut replaced (yes, they ruined the replacement) that they stripped the top hex bolt on. When they installed my alarm, they put a similar dent on the same piece. I can suggest a good PDR guy if you need it.

Kerny Mesa Subaru,

What's a PDR?

PDR = paintless dent repair.

Exactly! Thank you @wparsons!

I use a guy here in San Diego that I've been using for YEARS! Best I have seen yet and he has reasonable prices, but at this point, I would have Kerny Mesa Subaru pay for the PDR. If he can't do it, it can't be done.

He's fixed a dent that I had on my old cobra that the paint shop told me couldn't be pulled.
