Dear car, stop breaking

Seems like several folks who are waiting for their FR-S or BRZ have been having car problems. Mine's not quite dead yet, but it's not happy today. Last week I started hearing a clunk when going over bumps. Yesterday I discovered a broken rear stabilizer bar link, and I replaced it this morning. When I took it for a test ride, the noise was still there. So I pulled of the front tires and discovered that one side has torn lower control arm bushings, and the other has tearing bushings. This is getting expensive, and I'm ready to have a new car now.

Yup, I bought a POS 91 Mustang GT hoping it would last through college but the freaking floor pan is so messed up sitting in the seats lowers drops over an inch! One of the front stabilizer bar mounts is ripped off the frame so it drives like a boat. Reverse is out and neutral only works when the engine is off. Plus it's an automatic... The only good part is that the engine runs great, so it'll be easier to offload when I decide to sell it. I had a guy ask me about selling it when I brought it home and some dude came to the front door of my house asking if I was selling it.

I can hardly wait to get a new car.

Can I hear an Amen on that! After my 290K Astro died on the way back from the airport after the Long Beach event, I also sold my motorcycle to help with the payment of the FR-S. So, I'm stuck driving a borrowed Accord!

Down to less than two weeks hopefully!

My car isn't exactly broken, but the brakes are so sh*tty that I very nearly rear-ended a CLK last weekend on a rainy day. No ABS, FWD, 15 year old Civic with cheap tires. The damn thing locked up and skid at least 50 feet until it stopped about 1-2 feet away from the car in front. I can't wait to get a new car, but sadly it won't be the BRZ. I had to pull my deposit last week because the car isn't practical enough, at least to my parents.

My V6 2002 Accord never gave me ANY issues... except for brakes, lol. I have a 4 piston BBK sitting in my room though, lol, so that issue will be gone soon.

And now, in trying to break the passenger side ball joint, I screwed up the threads. In trying to fix the threads, I cross threaded the stud. All of this could have been avoided by using a thread protector (i.e. at nut). If it wouldn't hurt so badly, I'd kick this damn car.

Victory is mine! Ball joint extracted and replaced, two new lower control arms, and two new stabilizer bar links. Not how I planed to spend the weekend, but I got to learn stuff and buy tools.

Mines are tearing too, but they are holding up decently. I really don't want to buy new control arms though, that sucks. And I have a bad pcv valve or crank seal so my car is consuming/losing oil (and Nissan put the damn pcv in the stupidest place ever).

My control arms weren too bad. $100 each at Advance, and they had 15% off coupon online. Autozone has their rewards club too which helps with the price.

My Scion xA just over heated on my way down to my grad class...I had to limp it there and then back to the shop (maybe 20 miles or so). If it is over $1000 I think I am going to be the proud new owner of a MX-5 Miata.

Mines is pissed that I hop on the motorcycle every opportunity I get lol.

I want to get factory arms since they will last the best. Although beck arnley will be a good cheap alternative from autozone. My car is gonna be around for another year or so, so I gotta keep it in top shape. Especially since I commute 70 miles a day.
