Perrin plate relocate kit issues
 

So I tried to tighten the stem on the towhook hole to spec at 50 ft lbs as mentioned. The stem never came to a stopping point to torque anything near that pressure, but it doesn't seem to lock, and I know it's all the way in. I'm afraid I stripped something. Has anyone had similar issues? In case something did strip, would the stem or the towhook stem strip first?

Also, the plate now covers some of the DRL light, are there other relocate kits that don't?

Try the factory tow hook and see if that will tighten.

Where is the factory towhook located?

Well installed the factory hook with no issues, then tried the Perrin one again... And it worked? WTF? Shit like this makes me feel like a noob lol.

yea i had that problem too when i was installing my perrin. it wouldn't tighten, and than i took it out and tried again and it worked lol.

Had the same issue.

Got it on, but I was really not confident that it was secure enough. Left my buddy's garage and by the time I got home it was loose enough that I could spin the plate bracket with minimal effort. Started from scratch the next morning and everything seems fine now. I still check it from time to time, but I don't think it's going anywhere.

I ended up drilling the tow hook cover and I'm just waiting to go pick us a 1.25 inch grommet (maybe slight bigger) to help seal the hole around the stem. Totally unnecessary, but I want it to look clean.

Grimmspeed does not since it is super adjustable. I have this and it's solid.

Fucking wierd! Glad I wasn't the only one trippin'. Yeah, I have yet to drill a hole. Something tells me I'll have to get a few extra covers just in case I mess up.

Worked pretty well. I used a unibit which allowed me to gradually step down the diameter until I was happy. The cover sits on an angle with the curve of the bumper so keep that in mind when drilling.

Use a little penetrating oil in hole and threads before screwing.
