Hard compound street rubber?

Any thoughts on what would be a good tire in 215/17 or 225/18 for progressive release and easy sliding without wearing super quickly?

So you are looking for really crappy tires that won't wear when you are ripping rubber off them?

Don't know.. I like my tires to increase stopping and handling, not decrease it. Sorry :(

Might as well burn the stock Michelins off first.

or just drive it in the rain, wet so it'll make least amount of wear of the rubber

No suggestions eh?

Anyone have experience deliberately burning Continental ExtremeContact DWS?

The stock tires are a hard compound tire as far as summer tires go. If you want to up your durability further, go with the Primacy MXM4. They have about double the tread life and cost about $30 less per tire than the HP.

But driftin' ain't cheap.

Yeah, the OEM tires sound perfect for what you are describing. My guess is you will find a lot of people putting them up for sale on the boards as they switch to aftermarket wheels/tires.

Thanks Draco and RCE

I will be buying up HP OEM tires on cl sfbay for straight-up sacrifice. Did the same with POS RE92's in 02-04 with a ton of laughs. Lolz in fact

From what I've heard they're too soft and will probably ruin the car's handling. I've also seen some chunk to shreds. Yokohamas tend to be hard but they may not last as long. So like Draco said, I think you're best off sticking with the OEM Michelins since they're light and harder and should last a while. Michelins can handle some serious abuse.
