Utah owner needed to help please
Is there a Utah owner that lives somewhere near Orem that can spare some time???
As most will know there's the Torque Android app that will show among other things oil temp. DashCommand is the equivalent iOS app that will run on iPhones and iPads. Problem is it doesn't currently show oil temp for the FR-S or BRZ. DashCommand have asked if an FR-S or BRZ owner can pop in with their car so they can test oil temp on their app. No wiring or anything required as it is just a plug that goes into the OBD2 socket and can be tested on their iPhone or iPad. What's in it for you? Knowing you've helped the FR-S, BRZ and 86 community WORLDWIDE! If you are happy to volunteer please PM me and I will give you John's, at DashCommand (Palmer Performance), email address or you can see the discussion on their forum here and either post up a message for him or PM him on that forum. http://www.palmerperformance.com/for...p?topic=6351.0 Please PM me on this forum or post on this thread that you've made contact so I know to close off this request. Thanks heaps if you can do this from people all over the place including those of us far far away! Happy New Year from New Zealand. |
@Tanuki someone has suggested you might be in this area although your profile says you drive an M3 but if you can help yourself or know someone else...

My bad @nzer, I forgot he moved to Portland as well. Completely spaced it since I've yet to run into him and it looks as though he may not even own an 86 anymore.

Hopefully someone can help out with this, it would really mean a lot to the 86/BRZ community around the world

Looks like we have found a volunteer.
@fisher445 has said he can help out. FT86club members that are iOS users around the world will be very grateful if you can help them get the oil temp for the FR-S/BRZ/86 working. Members from as far away as New Zealand! Fingers crossed @HRTROB and @digital_assassin |

Why not just get a wifi ELM327 to run enginelink rather than the Bluetooth one that requires the jail breaking etc? Then, if DashCommand get their PIDs going you can use the same one. |

I'm not sure if this has been updated elsewhere on the forum, but I was able to purchase the PIDs via an in app purchase for Dash Command, and Oil Temp was in there! Big thanks to whoever helped out!
Oil temp is the only reason I went with Dash Command, and I'm thrilled it's all working! There were many more PIDs in the file from Toyota besides Oil Temp - well worth the 9 bucks US. and thanks @HRTROB for putting together a nice dash for the 86. |
