Vortech question for those that have it

Does anyone hear any added niose with the blower? I notice at 3500 to 4000 rpms i hear a really fast ticking niose then it goes away as the car accelerates. Cant tell if its something lose, the cat shot or just the injectors.

Thanks for any advice

Did you ever get an answer to this? I would try posting in the Vortech owners thread or contacting @Brian@Vortech .

Yep, have the exact same noise. Mine was a prototype car for the auto and everything was installed by Vortech. I have spoken with Brian about it, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. I still owe Brian a more in depth review, but haven't been home much to actually drive the car. When I am though, I love it. I do want to investigate further into this noise.

Most of the time the Vortechs are a little louder then other superchargers. Best way to check on the blower is pull the belt off and spin the blower by hand with the car off and see if it locks up or not.

I don't notice any sounds like that described in the OP. The only real noticeable sound I have since putting on the Vortech is the air coming out of the bypass and the additional slight whine of the blower at idle.

So if it is found to be "locking up", a) what is it that is locking up and b) what does one do about it?

Bearings or shaft play, and you want to get it rebuilt/repaired/replaced as appropriate.

Just curious have you logged your car? Who is your tuner? I had no ticking sounds. Maybe record a video for us?

And with the power this cat is putting down there would be copious amounts if the noise was "normal".
