Fujitsubo exhaust for the FRS/86/BRZ!

IMHO best sounding to date.

Wow, sounds great!

Cheddar 04-27-2012 06:33 PM

Btw that 1st to 2nd shift was to fast to be done by a person and the "brrp" when the shift took place reminds me of a DSG GTi. Could that be the shift speed for the Auto? Because that was fast!

whitejdm 04-27-2012 06:43 PM

Yup best sound so far I think!

I LOVE the pop in between shifts but sad that it was probably the auto. They're getting faster all the time! Now we just have to see which company will man up and be the first to do a single exit system.

Unfortunately a cat back or axle back won't change that. You'll have to wait for someone to make a UEL header system.....which as far as I know would be much worse performance wise?

I think on a NA application it will because you want some scavenging (sp?) In the exhaust system of a NA engine. If runner lengths are to different you might have power loss.

igorot 04-27-2012 07:12 PM

well its doesnt have to sound like the wrx motors, but for some reason this just sounds typical of an exhaust. the hks legamax sounds best to me thus far.

RRnold 04-27-2012 07:16 PM

Uggh, that sounds like shit! Too much rice crackle!

BigFatFlip 04-27-2012 08:06 PM

Sounds like a ricer fart can at idle... sounds a lot better as it revs up, but I'm not sure I'm sold.

As far as getting that distinct lazy WRX rumble (which I admit, I'm terribly fond of), I'm not sure this engine will ever get to sound like it, since I think the sound is specific to the EJ engine.

Damn, can't see the vid at work! :bonk:

OrbitalEllipses 04-27-2012 08:37 PM

Definitely the best thus far.

The rumble comes from the UEL headers, not the EJ engine.

Thanks for the education. Does that mean a UEL swap on the BRZ/FR-S can get the same effect? Both those clips you had kinda had that rumble, but not quite the same (I'm no tuned-ear expert, but I could definitely tell if there's a WRX around the corner)
