I stumbled upon this while watching misc engine videos. It's interesting to see engineering and luck meet together, how how ad-hoc and emotional it is. Also, they were using instant messaging back in '86.

Note to self: don't put the ECU close to the engine with long cables that act like antennas, one of which wasn't connected to anything :)

Yeah, I forgot about that. If you're on a desktop you can hover over them and close them. Pretty annoying, sorry.

Fantastic video! Cool to see some big names in there... had no idea Ross Brawn, who would later be the team principle at Mercedes, worked as an aerodynamicist with Williams. Cool stuff. :)

you can also click the gear (settings) and turn off annotations.

Awesome find! I love that they consider a couple of hundred of f1 engines not worth using CAD for.
