Anyone else get this? Media Release Form?

Got an email today from someone at Scion regarding the filming of my "dealer experience" (Scion's words, not mine). Attached was a consent form I need to sign, the email, in part, said:

"The delivery of your FR-S will be one of only a few nationally where the event will be filmed and photographed by Scion. In order to make this possible we need your consent by having you sign a release form so that we can use the video as a promotional item."

Anyone else get the same email?

Not here. Maybe they are sticking to the West Coast for logistics reasons?

HotLavaMann 04-27-2012 12:51 PM

Not here in Pacific Northwest.

Not me on the East Coast. Funny because it seems like I am the one running the show thanks to all the good info I am seeing in the forum. My guys dont know crap about what is going on.

With a few exceptions, that seems to be the state of affairs east of the Mississippi.

^^ Yes, it seems the further you are from California the less you will be informed about this whole process. That's kind of sad.

But then again, you have to realize Scion is a veeeeeeery small operation. We saw their HQ, its like a small web design firm in terms of size and space.

I agree. Its amazing they can manage 900 dealers out of that little shop. Wish I could work there! it must be quite an experience.

my dealer is in so cal, we're like <1 hr from HQ but they know nothing besides "well its in the computer so its probably on its way"

i asked if that meant on the boat or on a truck and they replied with "on the way"...sigh, i dont want a party i just want my car and i want to get in and out of the dealership in as short a time as possible LOL so i can go DRIVE

Brett 05-02-2012 10:29 AM

No but I wouldn't sign it I'd I did. I still haven't had a chance to really sit in or drive the car and decide if I want it. I want an environment where I can make a calm, rational decision before spending $25k of hard earned money. The last thing I want is a bunch of distractions.

I agree with that. If I was going to agree to a "party" it would be strictly for them handing me the keys. We would have already done the business transaction at least one day in advance, under normal sales circumstances. That way, if for some reason it didn't go through, we would all have time to recover.
