FT86CLUB Homepage Featured Story My Doc sheet says 4/24 the RORO Ship that is carrying the FRS/BRZ for the USA has landed at Port of Los Angeles (Long Beach, CA). The release is scheduled for 4/30, where it will make it's way by ground freight to dealers. It is also showing me that the production date of my own FRS on this boat is 3/26. My chassis number is 00348 on the VIN. Naturally they would not be sequential for the first 86, as we chose the colors and transmission, which have certain schedules in the assembly line process. The cars can't be made in the order of our 86 first in random colors and equipment chosen, as they make them in batches. So here it is! Our cars are in Long Beach, locked up and clearing customs and docs now! Heading to dealers soon! |
Any knowledge of whether there was maybe BRZ's on that boat as well since they all come from the same plant? Also, what was the name of the boat that had them?
Thanks for the info. |
Any information on East Coast deliveries of BRZ?
And congratulations. |
Moto-san!!!! You're getting everyone excited!!!!!

Awesome! do you know if these are only the first 86 or just the first allocation of them?

Also, the First 86 was not built to order, but rather selected from available cars in the first batch of many many cars that happened to meet the order requirements. Hence my FRS is #348 and not inside of fist 86 sequential numbers. That's what I gather, but I could be talking out of my butt. So stay tuned. I am finding more factual information as we speak, daily. The information about the boat being here in Port of LA, and my car being released for delivery on 4/30. That part is a concrete fact, obtained from sources within. :) |

The PR department said that the FRS launch to regular consumer availability is concurrent, so there will be no regional delays or launch phases. This means the availability of the cars will be simultaneous, only delays in the East may be from the shipping time of logistical matter (ie vehicle transporters can get to Los Angeles from Port of LA, in 1 day, while fastest of trucks can only get to NYC in 4 days.) Each of the dealerships have certain allocations based on many factors so closest dealers do not necessarily have more dibs. The vehicles will be spread far and wide and relatively fairly. No idea on the Subaru side though... I don't have any information or close enough contacts there on their side of the sales/distribution plans. |
Ah, well thanks regardless Moto-P.
