BRZ's are on the way!
Found out some information a little while ago I thought I'd share for those interested.
I e-mailed my dealer and he told me that my BRZ will be coming on a ship named Dionysos Leader. There are 26 BRZ's coming on an earlier boat named Seijin. None of those 26 are for the general public though. All 26 are going to a dealer meeting at the start of June and then those same cars will be spending the next month in the hands of the press. Seijin was expected to leave on the 24th of April and was expected to arrive around the 13th of May. Since the information my dealer has is from April 20th I'm not sure if the ship left on schedule. There is a ship called Polaris Ace that is holding 11 BRZ's. It departed on the 19th of April and is expected close to the 7th of May. I have no clue what the story is for those 11 cars. I'm 99.9% sure it's not for dealers though. There is apparently another vessel departing around the 11th of May and arriving around the 26th of May. I don't know anything about it though. It's listed as TBN but maybe that's an abbreviation for something. Now, with that out of the way... Time for me to look into these boats! :P |
When does the Dionysos Leader leave? Seeing as how I'm an early pre-order'er (if you will), my Brz might be in there too! :)

Trentos. Pretty sure I'm in the top three, if not #1.
|
^ Did they promise you MSRP? Or did you sign some contract and they added some fees?
|
MSRP, and he even said maybe some incentives ! Worst case scenario I guess, is MRSP.
|
He didn't have any information on the estimated date when the Dionysos Leader would be leaving or arriving.
I'll see if I can track the boat though to see where it currently is. My guess is it's going to have to make a trip back to Japan to get our cars and then head back to Canada. I doubt the cars are already loaded but who knows. |
TBN?
The BRZ Nautical ! Please keep us posted. One of the first inbound BRZ's is mine! |
^Ahh. Sounds good I suppose. At least we're hearing something about delivery :D Can't wait until the summer to finally start driving my BRZ. hope it's worth the wait!

Looks like this is the ship. It's going to be hitting Vancouver any hour now. I don't think it has any BRZ's or FR-S's on it. I think it's just the ship scheduled to deliver the first batch of customer cars. Lets just hope it goes straight back to Japan after leaving port again. :) As for the 11 BRZ's arriving on the Polaris Ace around the 7th of May, those BRZ's are destined for dealers on the east coast so that the cars from the Seijin and the cars from the Polaris Ace should arrive at their final destinations at around the same time. Once again, these aren't customer cars. |
I was thinking TBN was To Be Named but it sounds like it's going to be the Dionysos Leader. The e-mail he received with the other information was from the 20th of this month. He said my VIN showed Dionysos Leader now. When he first sent it to me it didn't. So I don't know if that means that's where my car is right now or that's where it's bound to be. But I can't really see it being there now because if it is it means it would actually be there before the cars scheduled to go out to dealers from the Polaris Ace and Seijin.

Odd - it's only 9:00 PM but it's already left Vancouver and is headed to Tacoma; in the Strait of Juan de Fuca now. Seems like that's an awfully quick stop in Vancouver - unload in less than an hour?
Anyway, pretty awesome to track these boats so closely! I never knew this marine traffic site existed. |
