Petition to Legalize the importation of the R34 Skyline.

So one of my buddies sent me this link to a petition to legalize the importation of the Nissan Skyline R34. We're all car enthusiast and I'm pretty sure we would all love to see skylines more often. So let's spread this around fellas :)

It already is legal to import and register a 1999 r34 GTR V-spec under the Show and Display amendment. The way it works is that you submit an application describing why your car has historical or technological significance, and they will approve or deny it.There's also a list of pre-approved and pre-denied cars. There's a couple other variations of Skylines on the pre-denied list.

Bill Gates made it when he realized his Porsche 959 couldn't legally be imported lol

No.

I rather just delete the whole 25 year law then just one car. Stupid.

This has been attempted more times than anybody can count. Even if you get enough people, it won't ever happen.

Besides, not everybody has the $50,000+ cash laying around to purchase a grey market vehicle.

There's more to life than R34s...

If I asked my friend Sean Morris to comment on this, he'd go to town on you.

Sean Morris knows what's up when it comes to getting these things.

You can't even describe the amount of dumb this thread and petition has.
But, if you're craving 4WD RB power, the R32 will be legal to import in a few months time, if not within this month.

My friend imported his 89 r32 gtr at midnight eastern time. First one under the 25 yr rule.

Maaad.

Post some pictures when he's got it ready, would love to see it with US license plate.

Wil do. It's funny since he already had a r34 gtr, an r32 gtr, and his friend had a Nur spec r34. But this time he will be totally federalized. :)

Fly to Japan and play with one there... It's easier than trying to convince the US Govenment, and the big majority of Americans who prefer to be without noisy, pollution-causing, speeding rockets... Rather just go enjoy life in isolation of passions in a foreign territory...

BY doing this, you will totally understand the Skyline heritage from the people that lived with them and kept the passion alive for 40 years, rather than from shallow hype created by Fast And Furious, and word-distorted American print media, idolizing publications... ;)

When I lived in Japan, I was not impressed with the skyline. Hype city.

Curious, care to share how much it cost all said and done?

Honestly I think Gran Turismo built the hype for that car far more than The Fast and the Furious series. The GT games really were my first exposure to that beast.
