I personally don't think that white will ever look ugly on a car.

This is actually VERY close to what the color looks like in person. The pearl is not as apparent as other colors. It's subtle.

I'm going with Asphalt all the way! It's a unique color, metallic dark silver/grey. Stealthy but not black. It does grow on you. I think Asphalt is going to hide the street dirt good. It will always look clean. I have a a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 and it is a Champaign gold bronze color and it hides the trail dirt great.

Very nice. :( I'm growing so damn impatient. I want the car now!

You guys made me feel better about white. If it's pearl than I am happy.

Whiteout looks great in bright sunshine it looks muddy any other time , I really wanted to like it but just couldn't , went with Firestorm.

Davyator 04-27-2012 01:44 AM

I am one of the First86, and I switched from Ultramarine to Whiteout as well. The whiteout was incredible. ;-)

its beautiful. I posted 3 videos over at http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5349 of it. Whiteout is now my #1 choice then Firestorm, Asphalt, Raven. Raven has been pushed way down because of the pics that are also posted on the link above.

Hey if what I'm reading in the other thread us true, maybe our FRS's are in LA :)

Im going with white awesome looking classy. Now to do the hvac convertion lol

tripjammer 04-27-2012 12:08 PM

You know whiteout does look good with the cheap looking FR-S headlights...Same with the silver. Something to think about if you will never change the headlights on the FR-S to BRZ or JDM 86 HIDS.

track_warrior 04-27-2012 01:00 PM

I ordered whiteout as well. Im pretty conservative when it comes to car colors. All of the cars i have had have been black, silver, gray or white nothing to crazy.

Liquidsnake 04-27-2012 01:00 PM

Are you guys going to do drop in K&N air filters?

Another plus for Whiteout - You can just stop at Staples, Office Max or even Walgreens for some touch up paint!

Deepmist 04-27-2012 06:43 PM

I have a white Honda Prelude and I really like white cars but I've always wanted a menacing black car with those mirror like reflections at night. After reading this thread I'm tempted to go back to white.

Is that right? Like a pearl whit, or a what ever white that you can tel up close, but not far away?

I used a Sharpie black on my G35. And I have used a metallic paint pen for my 370z.

Man the TRD exhaust sounds ohhhhhh sooooooo nice! saw the one posted in my other thread driving around on the street. SOOO NICE.

In my opinion Toyota = White by default. When I look back at supras, celicas, and aristos seems like the main color was white followed by red and black.

The 5axis frs was raven....just saying

They're offering that color?

I put my order in on a Whiteout MT, but damn it seems like that's what everyone's going with. I really gotta see it for myself though, I mostly liked it cuz over how it looked super white and blown out, not a huge fan of the creamy colour it can have. Also scratches! Tons easier to hide. I've actually been considering going Hot Lava, since it seems so unloved. I just got find some and see how they look in person!

Don't worry about popularity. The FR-S is not going to sell like other cars where you'll see one all the time, although it won't necessarily be a rare car either. Get the color you want. On the BRZ side, the most popular color by far is World Rally Blue, but that's the color I want and therefore the color I'm getting. One driving factor for me is the fact that it's the color that defines Subaru. Hot Lava may be a Scion exclusive but it doesn't define the brand in the same way that World Rally Blue defines Subaru. I agree that you should try to see the different colors in person before making a firm decision. Go to a Subaru dealer and look at the colors on Subaru models. You'll be able to see every one of them except Hot Lava, of course. I saw WRB on a WRX STI and that's how I knew with certainty that it was the color for me.

Liquidsnake 04-28-2012 08:33 PM

I stopped by scion Santa Monica today, and I was told the Subaru dealership had the BRZ in the showroom. I drove down the street only to be told it left for another dealership two days ago. :( just missed it.

FR-S/GT-86 04-29-2012 11:13 AM

My Subaru Legacy is in Satin White Pearl (the same color as whiteout) and I love it. The pearl is not "OBVIOUS" at first glance, but every curve and corner seems to shine and almost look silvery in sunlight. I think it's a GREAT color, and you'll be very happy with it.
