Custom subframe
Had the car up on the hoist getting a few things done today.
One thing we wanted to look at was correcting the rear roll centre. It didn't take my fabricator long to decide that it would be best to make a new subframe with multiple arm mount options for correcting roll centre / suspension geometry. He also mentioned about solid mounting the frame to the car, and using more generic nolothane bushings rather than application specific ones we are governed to use at the moment. There'll also be a tidy weight saving. My subframe will be coming off in the coming weeks to make a jig. Anyone interested in getting one made up as well, flick me a PM or mention something here. This is a fairly serious part, but a worthwhile investment for track guys. At a guess, I'd expect the price to be in the $4k region. |
Beyond my price range but VERY interested to see what you come up with. Good luck and please post lots of photos.

I'd be interested in knowing what changes are being contemplated to the rear roll centre.
Making it higher or lower? |

So as you lower the car, and the control arms move away from their ideal angle, you'd move the control arms up a notch or two on the subframe to put them back at a more ideal angle. |
I just found the thread I was telling you about earlier. Here it is: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48157

So, the ability to restore the roll height to factory spec after lowering the car, at least relatively to the new ride height. Not to adjust the effective roll center to a different height.

You'll be able to adjust them without lowering. It'll just be in increments. |
I'm assuming you guys have seen this before.
