The word "Fitment"
Do people know that they are using that word incorrectly around the automotive industry? :confused0068:
http://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/d...ritish/fitment http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fitment http://www.thefreedictionary.com/fitment Just saying... :-) P.S. I know I'll catch some heat for making the statement, but oh well. |

They use "fitment" because... well because people also like to use words like "irregardless" and "supposably" (supposably is a word, people just don't use it all correct like). |

Then again I use words like Gription (Combination of grip and traction) and zippity zoppity give me the boppity As the english language is constantly evolving (and has been) there is no real incorrect use of words unless it is blatantly wrong IMO... like calling a baby a fork It is all about the perceived meaning and if people understand it. If people understand it and it begins widespread use, then it may as well be part of our language until it is forgotten or becomes an outdated slang term |
You wanna get all proper, how about going after the many people that can't spell let alone use almost every word incorrectly.
