"Edit Post" Has Nothing In It!
Hi, when I go to edit my posts, it does not show my original post at all! It just gives me an empty field...
Please fix this, I wanted to update my car journal and don't want to loose what I have already had in my first post. Edit: Nvm, it seems like it didn't recognize the bulletpoint system and just decided not to show anything at all... w/e, I changed them to dashes instead. |
|
I get this on some posts as well.
the 86CUP rules thread is one of them... but it started working again. I can't readily duplicate it. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52982 |
I've also run into this a few times after clicking "Edit", it also happens when I "Go Advanced". I'm not sure if it's due to specific browsers or browser versions (I use 3-4 different machines throughout the week and can't remember which ones have been affected. I'm pretty sure I use Firefox on all of them.

This happened to me, turns out the cause was that I had clicked on a "multi quote" button (blue button with " on it). I had to find the thread where I had done it (the button turns red when you've clicked it) and click it again to fix it.
When it happened to me I couldn't edit or quote any posts. You can probably fix it by just clearing your cookies (or at least the one for this site), but I didn't try that. |
Same issue here

I found out my problem some time ago; but this problem may be affected by more than one cause... But try this:
I know vBulletin doesn't like special characters, try taking those out and it should work; if your problem was like mine. |
Hm... It seems like I'm having the same problem once again... And this time it has nothing to do with special characters or bullet points. :iono:

To bring this back from the dead, and it is relevant:
I'm having a very similar issue where not only am I unable to edit any of my posts, but attempting to directly quote or multi-quote a member's posts results in an empty field. Any idea as to what is going on? It's happened to me twice, and it seems to happen whenever it wants to. |

Posts with "special" characters such as ° and ø can neither be edited nor quoted. This is obviously an encoding problem, and should be an easy fix for the guys with the source code. I have also stated that such problems were common before UTF-8 came along more than 20 years ago, but these days any web software should take any language and character in stride. |

EDIT: And then I edited the quoted post with the special characters to add this! Y'all just don't know how to computer. EDITEDIT: FYI, I'm using Chrome version 47.0.2526.106m on Windows 7 64-bit. |
