Would coaxial door speakers plus stock tweeters be too much high frequency sound?
 

I simply cannot find a a) reasonably priced b) 6.5" mid-bass driver that's c) 2 ohms and d) shallow mount; it's basically pick two/three. I wouldn't mind buying a spacer to solve the last problem, but [ame="http://www.amazon.com/CX62-V-2-Image-Dynamics-Drivers/dp/B004XNC080"]this midbass driver[/ame] is the only one I can find that's 2 ohms, would need a spacer, and is still too expensive.

So my question is: how awful would it be to buy a pair of coaxial 6.5" speakers for the doors if I plan to also keep the factory tweeters? I understand that normally, that may produce way too much high frequency sound, but the door speakers are positioned where they're not near your ears. Or, does it not matter if I just get 4 ohm door speakers?

Also worth mentioning I have an 8" sub in the trunk and plan on keeping the stock amp to drive the door speakers.

That really doesn't answer my question? But I bought some component speakers to put in the doors, just gonna leave out the tweeters. So hopefully that works out well.

I do Not Unverstand your idea. In Origin your are Looping for 2ohm 6.5 speakers . As an Alternative you Install a coax System (which will have 4ohm) with the Resultat having a Second tweeter at your Knees?

You could get away with it if you could EQ them separately, but the idea behind the stock components is that their crossover points are somewhat matched. You might not be happy with the sound quality. The biggest problem with highs is they're very directional to our ears, so it's easy to pick out where the sound comes from. (Bass is the opposite, it's more difficult to localize a sub). With multiple tweeters each at different distances from your ears, it's more likely to cause listener fatigue.

You seem to have a very specific approach, so what exactly is your goal, better sound? louder sound? eliminate distortion? budget? part of a bigger plan?
