Watch the price point on these guys. I've seen a set in person and a couple already on the forums with fogging already....

NyC Zn6 12-28-2013 11:16 AM

Well these are chinese replica headlights they are not oem lol so this was bound to happen...staying tuned to see if everyone is having problems with theirs..maybe open and reseal them might help with fogging.

You shouldnt have to repair something you purchased. That being said, I would stay away from these anyway. One look at their website should raise red flags. http://www.winjetauto.com/

Anyone with a red FRS/BRZ have these? Pics please! :)

i thought the quality of aftermarket headlights were well known by enthusiasts, thats the only "mod" i steer clear of

Fett4Real 01-09-2014 09:23 AM

Well to be honest....the OEM 86/10 series headlights are 1100 a piece...which is alot higher then any JDM headlight Ive come across

86SPEED 01-09-2014 06:06 PM

@Gixxersixxerman -

We were speaking about this this morning - I am going to have Thomas give some feedback on these lights - The projector in these is better than the OEM one - But for the Price these light are very good

I can get JDM 86 lights for a decent price, used. With ballasts and bulbs usually. It just takes some searching around.

And apparently people freaking out about the "ZOMG RHD lights blinding people and you go to jail!", yea so apparently these lights auto levels them selves, and since the FR-S does not have a levelizer like in the JDM GT86, they seem to just be in a "default" setting type and the light cut-off is perfect for LHD as well. I've sold 2 sets already, its not voodoo magic.

How much would a set normally run for?

Check out my build thread, I bought the latest set from @BRZPDX. A used set, but works like a charm thus far. (Not trying to hijack this thread)

I'm pretty sure OEM are closer to 5000K in color than 4300K.

4300K would produce a warm white color, there's nothing warm about the OEM led strip.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/10/ydevutaj.jpg

I find that the Winjet LED strip is around 5500K, which is the temperature used with Volkswagen LED lighting.

The LED strip is likely 5000k, the headlight bulbs are 4300K; as there are clear physical differences in light output.

I painted my chrome ones. I will warn you that the chrome is extremely delicate and peeled off ridiculously easy even with 3m tape for delicate surfaces. I have painted the OEM ones as well no problem

IMO - its not blueish at all - most of the kits we did HID 5K was a good match.

The OEM standard bulbs have a yellowish ting as they should and maybe they make the LEDS look more blue.

Thanks for that info what kind of tape did you use? Painters or masking?

3m blue painters tape for delicate surfaces. I wrap as much of the headlight in newspaper as you can and use as little tape as possible.

Can you find black ones? And if so can you PM how much they cost?

ecko04 01-12-2014 03:59 PM

How do you retain the LED strip (DRL) with the low beams? I know they come on with the high beam but how do you keep them for the low beam as well? Figured I'd ask instead of taking my DMM to them.
