ECUTek detecting car

Has anyone else ran across this issue?

Fresh install of windows 8, uninstalled and reinstalled everything at least 6 times now, drivers, proecu and apploader. Now stumped.

green light on the cable too

Green light only means it recognizes the Ecutek cable. I get the green without being plugged in to the car. Check your OBD2 connector.

Try taking the cable and wrapping it around the steering column once so that it puts lateral pressure on the connector. The factory female connector can get worn after plugging in several times.

I tried something similar, but with a lot more yoga involved.

Ill take the connector down in the morning and check the pinning..

The other issue is not being able to load a rom file. I certainly have no idea what it is asking for. "Unable to Identify Rom Array Class."

Hi,

Please use EcuTek Update again which will build you a new version of ProECU.

I'm very sorry but we had small issue with our build system which is now fixed.

Open your ROM file using notepad. If there's nothing there you have a corrupted ROM file. I contacted EcuTek about it. That happened to me a few times with the exact same error. The file size is correct but it's full of nothing.

Now, if you open the file and it's full of hieroglyphics then you have a good file that should load.

Its full of Egypt!

I will remember this trick in the future, Definitely a good tip to point at either the installation or the rom file itself.

Perfect, works like a charm now when opening the tune file. I will test it in car inbetween snow storms at some point today.

Thanks!
