Thoughts on Raceland Coilovers?

Hey,

I was just wondering what everyones thoughts were on Raceland Coilovers?

I know they're a cheaper option but just looking for opinions and thoughts if anyone has experience with their products.

Edit:

Thought maybe I should give a little more info about myself.

I'm not really looking to drop the car at all, it's currently already pushing it with my location, maybe .5" inches lower at most since my brothers GT-R is about 0.5" lower and he doesn't seem to have any major issues.

I'm an aggressive driver, I like getting the car to slide. So I'm looking for something that can give me good handling for the odd time I might track it, but mainly just for street use, I want something that will last. But nothing absurdly priced for non competitive use like Teins.

So if anyone can recommend a coilover that can maintain stock ride height or not any lower than 0.5" and handle well at a reasonable price, I'm all ears :).

Honestly i could not tell you, but I would not run them if I was an aggressive driver, or using them for track.

I ran racelands on my mkiv gti. They were pretty awful but I was also into the "slammed" look and did not care about how they performed.

@vividracing @Doctor Who I edited my original post to give the community a better idea as to what I'm trying to acheive.

my guess is that you would be better off with some proven lowering springs like rce

Keyword there is lowering springs, I don't really want to lower my car.. At all if i dont have to, I live in a shitty area, the roads are bad and if I go any much lower I'll destroy my bumper.. :iono:

You almost certainly can not stay at stock ride height with Racelands...at the highest setting you'll probably be dropped.

They won't be an improvement on bad roads either. I'd prefer stock for handling. And ride quality. And durability. And noise. And self-respect.

Our RCE Yellow springs lower 20mm, but if you really don't want to lower the car just get some bushings and a good alignment. Maybe some replacement shocks like Koni or Bilsteins.

you would be better off with the stock setup if the things i hear about racelands are true.

Where are you going with those quotes? :P I know what I want from the car, don't want 2mm ground clearance limo like rides and dont expect it to handle like an f1 car, not too mention I plan on spending upwards of 20k into the car, not $3.50..:bonk::iono::popcorn:

20mm is about .78" so I can probably get away with that, is their a coilover out there that would be able to maintain stock ride height and offer better handling? I'm more in favor of a coilover because height is adjustable if I'm ever in a better area.

Racelands are cheap, pure cheap. Had a huge strain of big failures that aren't necessarily in conjunction with the next failure. IE: A shock will fail, a bolt will break, etc... It's not just one thing that breaks all the time, it's multiple items.

Google search "raceland failure" and you'll see all the horrific stories and images.

Thanks for the advice! Wasn't sure if they were half decent quality and affordable or if you got what you paid for with them, looks like you and a few other members already gave me the answer I'm looking for :)

Would not run these

Imo these are for people who want a drop and look

Been in a RSX with some and they were shit.

Makes more sense getting springs than these coils
