weird windshield crack

I parked my car outside my driveway, it's clear from trees and nothing above it at all yet an hour later I came out and find a big circular crack. It's odd because I didn't find anything around it that could've caused it so I can't explain what it is. What can this be? I have insurance for windshield repair so I'm not too worried about that. I'm glad it didn't hit any of the panels but I'm curious what this was.

Looks like the round end of a Ball-Peen hammer.. Looks like Vandalism to me.

Ok that's a bit worrisome. I gotta do a closer walk around my car now.

Yeah. That looks like a much harder hit than just something being dropped by a bird or such.

I figured nothing could've dropped unless it was like a falling bullet or something that fell but there's nothing around the drive way. There's also construction going on near by but again there's so sign of anything on the ground.

Are you near the ocean?? I am and the damn seagulls drop clams and mussels to break them open. I know of a couple 86's dinged up this way.

Golf ball possibly?

Not near the ocean, near a river though but I doubt anything there caused this.

That's a possibility but there are no hold courses around here. That and I literally couldn't find any sign of evidence on the ground, I was in a rush but still did a look around real quick and found no signs.

The crack looks like a spider web crack in the middle but around it, it's circular.

It's possible some asshat in the community decided to take a swing at a golf ball from their driveway and it ended up hitting your car. I've seen it happen once where I lived.
Those things are wicked fast so I wouldn't be surprised if it hit your car and went off somewhere else way too far away from your car.

Ah, yeah. I remember my dad giving me a good ass-whoopin' for doing sh*t like that. Can't hit kids these days, though. That's a whole 'nother problem in itself.

Quick Google.Images search for golf ball hits and there are several that look similar.
