winter driving school in minden

www.carcontrolschool.com/
has anyone taken their winter driving course?
what did you think of it?

i think i'm gonna sign up together with my husband

we both really enjoyed the course at the oakville skid control school last year, and i felt more confident in my knowledge of what maneuvers to do in case of an emergency.....so much that i'm thinking of doing it again in couple of years

Will this also help your insurance?

link is dead

but if this is the Ian Law school, it's probably the best you can get. BMW also has a school but they're pricy as fuck.

Minden's a bit far though, so be prepared for a long drive and a few wrong turns along the way.

I feel like I would need a driving course just to get to Minden for this driving course...

Autoslaloms are a good way to make/ keep those skills instinctive. Although there are no "dedicated" instructors present, there are many seasoned drivers that are more than willing to help you out. Some of these drivers are either ILR instructors or students that have gone through that program or the CASC program.

Oh, and I believe that ILR has a program with the Push It To The Limit series where a graduate of a driving course gets a free event or discount (or something). I'd have to confirm but I believe this was the case for this season.

I loved the one in Oakville...so much fun on the wet course doing complete 360's lol I did it a couple of years ago as a perk for work. Is the trainer still using a Ford Fusion? That thing was beat on hard!!

I did this about 4 years ago. It was very educational and I think this should be mandatory for all drivers. We learned how to control a skid with the ebrake, slalom through cones and then finished the day on the ice track. There was some in class instructions to start the day. You should probably have snow tires for this event. Ian Law is a great instructor. I have also taken his lapping school at Mosport.

I took both his summer school at the DDT and winter driving school up in Minden years ago... recommend it. Even if it doesn't do anything for your insurance, just having the added skills and understanding of car control is totally worth it. Should be mandatory for all drivers IMO.

I'll be signing up for one of the January classes....sooner than later

I also think advance winter driving classes should be mandatory....especially here in canada
