Winjet Headlights and HIDs

Has anyone made this work yet? Iv got the lights installed but I'm totally confused as to how to wire up the HID kit. It's a diode dynamics kit. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

you install the HID kit like you install ANY HID kit. so just find instructions for that. the unit is dual Hi/low from what i understand but that is controlled by a solenoid and not the bulb so you could just google around and get there.

It's the harness that's got me confused. Because the the high beams and LEDs use the oem connector. I can't see how the solenoid and the LEDs would get their power

the leds run off the day-time running light part of the OEM connector (As the high's are the DRL) and the high beam is activated by the high beam part of the OEM connector.

I think? Logically I would assume taht is how it works.

Do you have any pictures of the wiring? Anyway, the way i have my relay harness wired is essentially to the car battery, one side wires up go the oem switch for low beam and powers the ballast, while the other side goes to the other ballast and ground. High beams are still using stock oem harness. I dont have winjets but if you want to take a few pictures of the wires maybe we all can help.

Is the HID kit a plug and play kit? If it is, all you should have to do is plug the ballast into the stock bulb plug, mount the ballast, plug the bulb into the ballast and put it in the housing.

By the sound of it you shouldn't have to touch the LED or highbeam side of this at all to put in the HID's.

Right, here's the thing though, the stock lights have the 6 pin connector, then spilt to the high/low beams. The winjets have their own harness that replaces the one from the 6 pin connector to the bulbs

I would talk with Ft86 speed factory, I think they are installing HID kits in theirs, should know how to do it.

Sorry I cannot help out more yet

This is what I came up with:
Figure out which wires power the LED's, now just ignore those since you want the projector power wires. Brown wire is your ground. I think the projector ones were black and white wires. I spliced those and hooked them in with my wires that went to my HID ballasts with wire nuts and black electrical tape. Those will send power to the ballast and on to lights. Not sure which color connects to which, my ballast wires were black and red (might be different for you).

Hope this helps.

Look for the part of their harness that goes to the low beam bulb, then tap into that for power to the ballast.

I think this is what I'm gonna try. I'll report back with the results. Thanks for the input guys!

Typical HID PnP kits are (almost) idiot proof. Ide like to see a pic when you get it figured out

Winjet Headlights and HIDs

Okay. Simple enough. Not quite plug and play. The 6 pin connector needs to be repinned on the headlight side from the low beam wiring that comes on the winjets to the low beam wires that are oem. Then that can get connected to the ballast, then to the lights. No splicing necessary. Just switching those two sections of harness :)

You can check out our thread we have some good images of how we wired up the Morimoto Kits -
