[PIC REQUEST] Painted Seibon C/F hoods

Hey everyone,

I'll be buying a vented hood sooner or later and will be paint matching it to my firestorm,

Mainly interested in seeing pics of the TS and FA, color doesn't matter just trying to see what they look like paint matched. Also would like to see some with vent accents. (Vents not painted) like the picture below.

Also wouldn't mind hearing experiences with how effective these are to remove engine bay heat, on both NA and FI setups!

Thanks everyone!

Haha, photo cred to @h4nh haha. I've heard mixed reviews about the Seibon hoods, seems like hit and miss. My main reason for wanting it due to ventilation, as I am going FI. I definitely would prefer it if it fit like the OEM hood or atleast very close.. I really like the paint job on it though!

If I were to do this again, I would get someone to fabricate the vents on the aluminum oem hood. It's light enough and fits perfect.

This god awful hood sucks so bad that even a cop pointed it out to me.

The vendor I bought it from (evasivemotorsports ) offered me 5% discount if I bought another hood since it's hit and miss. What a joke. I spent so much money with them and I would have spent even more. I'm a bit disappointed.

Whoah! A whole 5%? What a steal! You're an idiot for passing up that 50/50 opportunity! Haha where exactly are the issues with your current one?

I think from what I heard, contacting Seibon directly won't get you much further?

I wish the VIS hood was closer to the seibon TS hood, don't think I found a complaint on the VIS hoods yet.

I considered having the oem hood fitted with custom vents but due to my location, that isn't really an option due to the lack of shops that would be able to perform such a task.

As far as hear dissipation is concerned, have you noticed any noticeable changes with the vented hood?

This is the gap from the side. It bows up from where the fender is. There's no way it can be fixed. It's a manufacturing defect.

Some angles I've taken the picture to make it look right, but this is what it actually looks like.

pics attached above.. btw I wouldn't try to bond carbon fiber vents to aluminum. The heat will start showing where the bondo is later on.

He touched where the gap was and said "Is it supposed to be like that, what's wrong with it? "

I told him it was defective.. then he writes me a speeding ticket. lol. what a douche.

No no, if it were to be the oem hood, I wouldn't have vent inserts so to speak, just the cutouts, and have the edges rolled. But like I said that isn't really an option in my area..

You definitely hid it well in the pictures I've seen, those defects are terrible. You think Seibon would test fit each one to meet certain standards, I really hate the idea of taking a 50/50 chance to get a good hood is, but I really don't know what other options I have..

Have you noticed a big difference in under the hood temps?

Cause having a defective hood doesn't qualify for having a bad day/luck as it is..:bonk::iono:

I have not tested the hood temps but I'm sure it helps a lot.

Usually they let me off because my bro's a cop. This college campus cop was a ****.
I was going 50 in a 40 on an empty street at 12am right next to my own house.

This is my first modded japanese sports cars so I guess they have something against them. I use to haul ass on the m5 or m3 and never got pulled over. lol

Yep, depends on the cop, I've heard of some even giving fellow cops/family members tickets LOL.
